    David , thanks the video ! I've watched a lot of Processors ,but no one explained why the different piles ! Now I know ! David that bark , if you run REALY fast & slid on the bark it will make a whistling sound , it's called a Indian Whistle , so my Dad told me !

    @@quintinwilcox7617 bolts must be straight, no rot and at least 6 inches in diameter. They get sawed into lumber- mostly 2X4s. Pulp is the crooked and smaller stuff that will be sent to a paper mill.

    You did a great job showing us how it works. What size chain does it use I'm guessing about the same size as the robotic that Wade and cotontop use. Couldn't you use the berch for firewood if you wanted to. Thank you for risking your yourself with the deer flies and keep up the great videos

    That’s always been my favorite machine not sure if it’s how it looks or operates how often do you sharpen the saw chain and what are the bigger pieces of aspen used for thanks Napa mike 👍

    Chain lasts until you saw dirt or a rock. Aspen is for pulp to make paper.

    First thin? Or second? Looks like a nice stand and very easy to do with the short lengths. Do the 1270D’s have the sequential cutting where your hands stay on the joysticks for cutting, processing, and then bucking?

    Insane how quickly that chainsaw slices though the wood... is it because its going so fast like much faster than a handheld one or is it the downward force as its cutting?

    You're lucky to still have a market for pulp wood.Here in Maine several paper mills have gone out of business in the last few years,along with a lot of good paying jobs.The ones that are left are struggling to stay afloat.No telling if this part of our economy will stay alive or not.

    @@davidhaley7053 -One of the biggest problems is Chinese paper.Our mills just can't compete.Also,the paper companies own millions of acres in the northern part.I hope it won't be sold to developers to be turned into playgrounds for the wealthy.

    I always wondered, how often does the operator have to sharpen the chainsaw? Do they do it manually, by putting down the harvester head opening the saw and just filing it?

    @@davidhaley7053 :) I run a Takeuchi TB1140 excavator with a 2 roller fixed head built by Upton forest equipment from Bancroft Wisconsin. Which is about 35 miles from where I live. This is the fifth harvester that I have bought from him in the last 25years. This one just turned 11,000 hours on it last week. I've been running this one for the past 8 years. I think it's the only one in the world as of now. It's only a 80 hp machine and is really easy on fuel. In wood like you guys were cutting I usually average about 5 to 6 cords per hour. The nice part about this machine is that it only costed about 140,000 dollars when it was new. Anything else at that time was around 400,000 dollars. And you know what they want for them now!! Take care my friend!!

    @@davidhaley7053 :) Google William Upton and I think a video of it will come up of it when it was a couple years old. I was also spraying fungicide on the Stump just after I cut the tree but before I fell it. I was cutting 12 and 16 foot bolts and pulp.

    Back bevel done with a small ballpeen hammer. Ask Dallis to get a hold of Larry for a knife guage
