I have incurable cancer and have just over a year to live, watching these types of videos gives me great peace as I know I am just a speck of dust on a speck of dust, an insignificant nothing. It truly is amazing what is out there and I can sit for hours, watching and just think, wow! I'm hoping to get somewhere, away from light pollution,so I can see a tiny portion of our universe from high up in the highlands. I think then, I would like to die.

I'm not sure that's exactly true when we're looking at light from billions of years ago. As far as I'm aware, the lighter colours like white, blue, light yellow, and green indicate galaxies that are nearer to us. The darker hues of orange, amber, purple, and red indicate the older galaxies further away. It's all to do with the light spectrum, redshift, and infrared. However, as you said, colour can tell us a lot about the constituency of a planet or star. When astronomers and cosmologists observe planets and stars - particularly with planets - colours can give them some clues about the chemistry of the atmosphere and/or geology. I wasn't aware of the specifics you cite though, so thanks for that!

In sure the people in 1917 thought the same.

The Cosmos is so beautiful and amazing... And it's just made out of pure and simple natural laws. No judgement, no opinion, no good or bad, no rewards or punishments. And the best thing, it is not "misteriously" hidden and it doesn't impose itself upon you. It simply and objectively is there for you to CHOOSE freely and independently whether you want to give it a greater meaning or not. Cosmos and Nature itself, they really do bring true faith!

Out of all those hundreds of billions of galaxies, trillions upon trillions of stars, zillion upon zillions of planets, it was ours that happened to spring life. It was here that 4 billion years of evolution, thousands of years of human development lead to one thing: *Us*. And you're a part of that 'us'.

Just a collection of carbon based atoms amongst 17.3 billion others, sitting on a tiny spec of dust, circulating one of 1 billion trillion visible stars. Science, what a great tool for the atheist.

Most every point of light in the image is an entire galaxy, each comprised on average of hundreds of billions of star systems. The numbers when extrapolated to the entire sky are fantastic.

Well galaxies that we see in this video are immense, and very bright compared to planets, that just reflect the light of nearby stars. That's why for now it's really hard to have "direct light" images of exo-planets. One of the latest infra-red light picture of a giant planet, really close to it's sun, at only 63 L.y distance ( neighbour ) : www.universetoday.com/107854/super-sensitive-camera-captures-a-direct-image-of-an-exoplanet/ So I hope to see high-resolution pictures of exo-planet's surfaces too, but it's not coming soon unfortunately. But It will come with new technology !
