The reason why she went down faster is because of how all the portholes were open at the time and on titanic, since it was cold, most of the portholes were closed which slowed down the sinking

The force of the explotion damaged watertight bulkheads between No.1 and the forepeak which meant 4 watertight compartments were flooding also the firemen's tunnel connecting to the firemen's quarters was damaged which was letting water into other compartments the bulkhead door between boiler room 6 and 5 failed to close then the portholes on E Deck was letting in around 24,000 tones of water in just 20 minutes so 40,000 tones of water is enough to pull the Ship down this would have occurred around 9am Britannic did not stand a chance of staying afloat so Britannic had a massive hole in her

She never was a passenger liner sadly, she was converted to a Hospital Ship before she could ever become a passenger liner. The HG team created the interiors based off of blueprints and document. So in reality, nobody ever saw her as a passenger vessel.

Unfortunately you missed the two lifeboats on the port side (left side) that got shredded by the propellers that were coming out of the water as the bow lowered and the stern rose up. The captain kept the ship running in an attempt to beach her and those lifeboats were lowered without his knowledge and against his orders. After the Titanic sank the Olympic and Britannic were fitted with the correct amount of lifeboats after the Titanic didn't. The watertight compartments were also built to the correct height on the two sister ships, but they didn't work in the Britannic's case. Fun Fact: One woman was on the Titanic, she was on the Olympic when it sucked the HMS Hawke into it's hull and she was a nurse on the Britannic when it struck the mine. She was on all three Olympic class liners and survived all the disasters. She was Violet Jessop and was dubbed 'Miss Unsinkable'.

HMHS Britannic was the third and final vessel of the White Star Line's Olympic class of steamships and the second White Star ship to bear the name Britannic. She was the youngest sister of the RMS Olympic and the RMS Titanic and was intended to enter service as a transatlantic passenger liner. She was operated as a hospital ship from 1915 until her sinking near the Greek island of Kea, in the Aegean Sea, in 1916. At the time she was the largest hospital ship in the world. Britannic was launched just before the start of the First World War. She was designed to be the safest of the three ships with design changes made during construction due to lessons learned from the sinking of the Titanic. She was laid up at her builders, Harland and Wolff, in Belfast for many months before being requisitioned as a hospital ship. In 1915 and 1916 she served between the United Kingdom and the Dardanelles. On the morning of 21 November 1916 she was shaken by an explosion caused by a naval mine of the Imperial German Navy near the Greek island of Kea and sank 55 minutes later, killing 30 people. There were 1,066 people on board; the 1,036 survivors were rescued from the water and lifeboats. Britannic was the largest ship lost in the First World War.[3] After the First World War the White Star Line was compensated for the loss of Britannic by the award of SS Bismarck as part of postwar reparations; she entered service as RMS Majestic. The wreck was located and explored by Jacques-Yves Cousteau in 1975. The vessel is the largest intact passenger ship on the seabed.[4] for people who dont know about the britannic

Britannic sank in less than an hour, but there were more problems that made it flood faster. 1. The portholes were open, 2. Watertight doors were jammed when the mine hit And 3. It had a bigger hole in the hull which it flooded fast. Compared to Titanic, 1. Portholes were closed because of the cold weather 2. Watertight doors weren’t jammed which made it flood slower 3. The iceberg scraped the sides so it didn’t flood much

Britannic sunk in water that was shallower than she was long so that boom you heard was her bow hitting the sea floor. She is currently the largest shipwreck on the sea floor and in water that is shallow enough to dive to without submarines. She's a stunning wreck, too, covered in brightly colored plant life and full of fish. She made an exceptional artificial reef but a VERY dangerous wreck to dive to. People have died diving to her and attempting to explore the break.

Although damage was extensive, only six of the watertight compartments flooded, and the ship remained afloat. As the ship listed, water began to enter open portholes on the starboard side. In an attempt to beach the ship off Kéa, Capt. Charles Bartlett ordered full speed. The movement, however, caused more water to enter the ship, and Bartlett quickly ordered the engines stopped.

There were two types of davits on the ship. The standard Welin Davits (similar to the ones on Titanic) and the industrial looking Gantry Davits which were automated and could lower boats in quick succession. There were four sets of the Gantry Davits amidst ship (one suffered mechanical problems as it was swung inward to attach another boat. That davit remains in this position today on the wreck.

One of the signs of her being rushed into service are the fact that only 5 of the planned 8 gantry davits were installed.
