I am impressed by several of your ingenious uses of some rather inexpensive motors- I just recently noticed yor video with a $100 faceting machine-what I picked up from that is your mention of using the faceting staff FOR GRINDING AND POLISHING GRAVERS! THAT IS SOMETHING I never would have thought of! That is a great idea! I have 2 -$300 Vevor Faceting machines and one of them I gat free-both brand new! Thank you! NewYork my hometown!

I have been using foam sheets for many years on cabs and I use the 3M diamond micro finishing film on top for up to 1200 grit. Works great on cabs and no mess

I made my own resin lap just mixed some 1 to 1 resin and poured the diamond in and it all went to the bottom of my disk mold then when cured pull it out and you have a nice diamond resin lap

My wife and I were just trying to come up with something to solve this exact issue. We were having inconsistent polishing and it was taking a fair bit of time since we were trying to solve that issue. We have tried a lot of different ways except for the more expensive cab king wheeled machines. Just purchased all these materials. Will give an update once I give them a use. Thanks for the information!

And what flat laps really need is a center connector that is level with the disc's, not some big old nut and bolt sticking out.

Ok, I watched the other video for the Gorilla Glue Goop soft lapidary disk. It would seem that a hybrid of the two may also work wonderfully, especially for the grit that "flies off." One could Use the foam in this video impregnated with Gorilla Glue Goop (to coin a phrase). What do you think? Thank you by the way for your helpful ideas. I'm jealous of all of your laser tools though! [No emoji for jealousy or envy.]

Where did you source the silicon carbide? I did a quick search and came up with a lot of bulk packs but not so much the finer grits in smaller packages like what you've got there. I'm very interested in trying this. Thanks for sharing!

I have a machine similar to yours but If its like mine, did you have problems when it's set to 90 degrees and meeting up with the grinding surface? When mine is set at 90 it way to far above

    I have one of the green,'china-made' machines'.I take off the (brass-height-adjuster) and use washers'(5/8" center-hole),of various-thickness,to adjust the cutting-arm for 90 degree(girdle-cutting/polishing) of stones'.These machines' were not well 'thought-out',per-se'!

You do not do a demo for stone with a piece of metal. As far as the rest of it yes it works with either silicon carbide or diamond powders.
