Aw Crap, I Own 10 Cars Again. Here's a Tour!

It’s that time again! Let's take a tour of every car I own. All 10 of them! If you’ve been following my channel for a while, you probably know that I have a problem. I often spend my time browsing craigslist and Facebook marketplace, looking for cheap and unique cars that are in need of a new home. And as such, my yard has filled up with weird, obscure, and mostly broken vehicles. I had recently slimmed down the collection to 7 cars, but it has since ballooned back up to 10. Let’s go through all of the cars that are here right now, and I’ll give you a tour of everything. What makes them special, and what makes them terrible. Come join me!

Your collection is just the perfect amount of quirky. Love it. I, too, have a soft spot for the Nova Twin Can and the McLaren Pontiac. A shame about the lousy ABS system on the Pontiac. They really were cool cars back when GM didn't have much to boast about.

Put that Dodge RAM to use on Roadie! It's a package delivery service and some gigs pay pretty well for those that require a truck. Where I live, Tractor Trailer Supply pays $40+ for you to deliver 10-15 miles! Once this pandemic is over and you're in the mood to travel, you might could find a gig on Roadie that would take you somewhere interesting. Before COVID, I worked my way through Georgia, hit a lot of the Florida major cities (Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Key West) and got paid to do it. Over $1200 worth of trips, gas was only a few hundred, slept in the car and got to explore different bars, meet some awesome people. Once COVID is over, I look forward to doing that again

Been rolling through watching the RAD videos, thinking Australia would really appreciate something like that. So different & refreshing. Mind you, I’m not in the scene, even though I am a little like this bloke with my five cars (naughties & nineties), in which I seem to replace the one I just sold with another one almost straight away every time, including ‘that look’ (you would relate mr ‘hellocar’, I’m sure) from my wife.

One car I owned when I was 17/18 year's old (2000/2001) was a 1985 Merkur Xr4ti with a 5spd manual and was the most fun to drive car I ever owned and definitely the one that got the most looks.

I am the same way as you Ethan. Back when I was 18, I bought a 1991 Eagle Premier ES as my first car. I looked for three years to find one and though I had a 1989 LX model, it was not the same. Now, though I found a 1991 Eagle Premier ES Limited that is the same color as my first car. I love it as it brings back all the memories as it has the same features my first car had; Floor shift, automatic seatbelts, luggage rack, graphic equalizer, I could go on. Paid $1100 for it. In that sense, I respect your love for that Geo Prizm GSi, one man's junk is another's treasure.

Your T-shirt with a B210 reminds me of my childhood. A neighbor bought a brand new, white B210. I was in high school. Over the next few years I watched the car's body rust in a manner I have not seen since. I mean, the body became a gaping hole of rust within about 3 years. Rust holes everywhere: doors, hood, fenders, quarter panels. Everywhere. And not just surface rust. I'm talking oxidation that completely enveloped the body.

Love the video man! If you wanna get any bad smell out of a car. I learn this from the body shop I bought my TGP from in Wilkesboro NC. A Thunder chicken had mold in it bad and the car looked clean just smelled horrid. The husband and wife who owned the place told me you get one of those air freshener that grandmas have on the back of their toilet for the house and leave it in there in the hot sun for days and then all you'll smell is the air freshener and itll suck out all the smell into the goo in the freshener. remove and air out and you are golden! 👍🤘🙂🙃 Thatll take care of the pee smell for ya! hahah

On my 87 Nova I got it for $1,500. I've only replaced a few engine accessories: alternator, starter, water pump, timing/serpentine belts, valve lift/lash adjustment, and for the final touch all new exhaust pipes-nothing fancy but replaced them due to rust/leaks, besides that it's in decent shape and when I bought it had 68k miles, now it has 105k and still runs like an old clock. The other Nova is an 1988 (carb) engine and I got it for $200 but had to tow it home, the previous owner had blown the head gasket due to overheating, but I replaced the head gasket, piston rings, rod bearings, (4A-LC engines don't have cam bearings) and all valve stem seals along with new timing belt and timing cover gaskets, after about $1,000 of parts (also including new exhaust pipes) it was cheaper than buying the first Nova, but I'm happy to own two weird almost unknown/forgotten cars. Thank you for showing them, it's nice to see others own old cars, and take care of them!!

The Stanza is of the group of cars I called high hat wagons. There was a Tercel and a Mitsubishi Colt sold as a Dodge. I took, and was failed in a driving test in a borrowed Tercel wagon in 1990. I passed later that year in my friend's Mom's 1988 LeBaron sedan.

I think I have somewhat similar taste in cars to you. I currently have 7 vehicles (5 cars, 2 bikes). At a certain point it becomes a challenge to give all of your vehicles regular use. There are some weekends when I think about going out of town somewhere but I'm like "nah, I have a couple of vehicles that I haven't started all week and need to drive." Also, my main dd is also the car that I would most trust on a road trip and I don't want to drive it all weekend, in addition to having given it a lot of use during the week. First world problems . . .

Dude props on Nova and the Grand Am Turbo. However, you and I certainly have a similar interest in the rare/weird/rad late 80s early 90s. One car I have been searching for ever since the moment I passed one up (probably to only one I'll ever find) is the Hyundai Scoupe LS Turbo. I love the styling of both the generations but the second gen notches out the first by just a hair. Give them a look when you get a chance. The one I was looking to by at the time only had 105k clean body and interior black paint for only $1300. I only had $1100 and needed a car that day to which I went 90 Integra Gs (which ended up being great and I got 125k miles out of it myself). The next car on my list is a 90-93 Isuzu Stylus preferably 1992 as it had the 1.8l DOHC. If you look into these they made turbo awd 4ws JDM versions. 140hp for a '92 mini sedan that weighed 2253lbs. While we are on the Isuzu line up I also have to mention my favorite hatchback ever created (coming in at a very close second would be the Mazda 323 gtx) is the 1989 Isuzu I-Mark RS. You'll love them as well I'm sure! Well hopefully you actually read and maybe respond to this message as I'd love to talk 'OUR' cars with ya some more! Take care man, Cody

Just how do you afford all the costs of keeping all those cars? Serious question. It gets expensive paying all these registration fees, even if the cars are old. In addition, you also have to pay to smog them every two years. And what about Insurance? I keep minimum coverage on mine, and I receive the low-mileage discount, and I still pay thru the nose for any additional cars I put on the policy. Explaining to the insurance companies that I am the only driver in my household and that my annual mileage exposure to risk doesn't change regardless of how many cars I have doesn't seem to make a difference to them. So how do guys like you and Hoovie handle this aspect of car ownership? I really want to know.
