Avon Racing Tires to Shutdown end of 2023!

This video I will share the news that just came out and that is Avon racing tires will shutdown the UK operation by end of 2023. Goodyear who owns Cooper tire and Avon tire has not provided any line of sight as to what will happen with the special tires Avon produces for Historic racing.

Yes some inventory remains now, not sure how long it will last. I have also been stocking tires for my own use. Cheers
That facility only produces motorcycle tires, this doesn't affect any of their car tires.

@@NixonMotorsports It says that in the articles you cited. For example: "... in 2018 when the plant ceased producing car and SUV tyres as production moved to Europe."

They produce all there race car slicks in the UK Factory...I know as I go there to buy them. They have all the cross ply molds at the Factory in Melksham.

@@LarryLinton Hi Minton! thanks for following up. I am going to do another update video for everyone but I wanted to share a message that I received from a leader in charge of Avon racing tires. "We had a further update with regards the situation at the end of December. See below a copy of an email communication that was sent out to all direct Cooper Motorsport customers and dealers. The outcome of the consultation in Melksham, UK has confirmed that the closure of the site will take place in December 2023. All Avon racing tyres are Manufactured in Melksham and therefore this announcement confirms that the production of all Avon racing tyres will end in December 2023. Our manufacturing and operational plans for 2023 are to continue to fulfil our contractual obligations and meet existing customer demands in full, as such we anticipate ‘normal’ levels of stock throughout 2023. Additionally we anticipate that there will be some residual stock in our Melksham warehouse and held with various independent Avon Motorsport distributors, therefore there may be some availability in certain sizes in 2024."
