It's the little things that matter when it comes to your golf swing. This includes paying close attention to details about your Single Plane Address, foot position and how your practice.
In this video I discuss the Three mistakes that you must avoid as you practice and improve your golf swing.
About the Single Plane Swing.
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

@@ToddGravesGolf I've bought in and started about 1.5 years ago, so I don't feel too bad. But lately, I've been struggling. I practice relentlessly with the position training board, but something is still off. Todd, if I want to send video but I don't have a camera that will film in a 360° view - is that necessary? What is best view in order to get good feedback from you?

People may be using your videos to build better mechanics. I found that is not the end result. After watching these videos, I now have confidence when I walk up to that first tee. For 40 years I have been nervous and not knowing what will happen on that tee. Now I know. And it is a Great Feeling!

I was watching some long drive guys and two of them sure look like they are using single plane swing. I totally understand why. They were more accurate than the others. 🤔 still hit it a ton.

What a great video! I took your message out to the range today and had one of my best sessions in months. Slowing things down, practicing with a purpose made all the difference. As always, a great message Todd. Thanks.

Thanks for the video Todd. After a year of working on your model I still had issues with early extension and I found that for ME, the issue was that my intention was to hit the ball. This made my body react in the wrong way. I found out because you are posting so many clips of Moe, and in several of them he hints about swinging "THROUGH" the ball, aiming his club out towards the target. That the ball is just in the way of the swing. So when I recently tried the drill to throw my clubs toward the target (literally) by using my body and legs naturally, all while having the correct setup that you teach, I had no more early extension when looking at the videos. So now when I follow your model and I'm not focusing on hitting down on the ball, but instead feel that I try to throw the club towards the target, it works! Just putting it out there if anyone else have issues with early extension even when trying to follow this model.

Theres many similarities with the single plane swing and what I’ve always worked on. Having that lead foot bowed out slightly has always been something I’ve done, tiger does that To allow more turn through and less resistance in the leg/hips, but trail foot is kept square. The lead hand grip matching the clubface is very important, again what tiger does. Then at impact having that alignment with club and lead arm. The main difference is starting in the impact position instead of arriving at the impact position. Both swings would look the same at impact. What you said about working on your swing and knowing what your working on, is so important. To many people just beat balls on the range and are just ingraining bad habits.

After 26 years of trying everything, I have really bought in to you & Moe Norman! Just hate it took so long to discover both of you, I can already tell positive results in my game overall! Just blow my mind as to why more people, pros & teachers aren’t using these concepts? Any thoughts? Thx!

  • @ToddGravesGolf

The idea and false concept of hanging the arm straight down in the athletic position, that is taught by almost every instructor, is a primary fault. It makes no sense. But as long as teachers use their starting position as a fundamental. Golf instruction will always be nothing more than teaching people how to compensate for a difficult starting position.

After watching your swing, do you feel as is the trail elbow is tucked into your side/ribs on the downswing and still maintaining the single plan at impact?

  • @ToddGravesGolf

    @ToddGravesGolf

    Жыл бұрын

Not really but the trail arm is is bent, the wrist is in extension, and the arm is internally rotated. This makes the arm look tucked near the body. keep in mind the body is rotated too so that makes the arm look closer too.

Todd didn't you mean to say "you think about it" BUT you( think LESS about it)while are your playing!! ALL good players "THINK" but the more your mechanics are good at the range the more they will be common place when you go play!! The MIND must be occupied on the task at hand!
