So basically, if I generate a text myself and then ask Chat GPT to improve its readability (provided that I include in the prompt that it is going to be included in, let's say, a research proposal), then that would not be any kind of unethical use on my behalf, right? Which leads me to the question: is it possible for universities to detect when you copy and paste a text generated by AI even if 95% of it was generated by a human?

Thank you very much! I'm working of a workflow for my PhD, but taking AI into account. Since I use Obsidian to keep track of my notes, I was wondering about using a RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) system in order to help me sort my notes and outline the drafts. Of course, I have to supervise the result, but it's definitely based on my notes. Since it's essentially written by an LLM, it's easily flagged as AI generated content (even after my revision). How can I check to what extent is my workflow ethical? I haven't started using it because of the doubts I have about ethics.
