If it me, or when shooting on overcast days like this, the colors turn out less vibrant, less saturation, than on sunny days? Grey like the sky. But, like you say, can't always wait for sunny days in order to schedule a shoot.

True story! Popping light does help getting color back on the subject though.

@@J.Allen_Photography By "Popping", do you mean more light power? Or maybe closer to subject?

@vernonr7404 just shooting with off camera lighting. Overcast is easy lighing usually, but I typically still shoot with OCF.

What worked for me was (if your camera has this setting in the menu) changing the picture style to “portrait”. It significantly added depth in colour! I found this setting on my Canon R10 in menu > the camera icon > picture style > portrait

Im just beginning my portrait journey. Done a few weddings so far as well. I shoot off camera flash as well with AD600, Canon R5 and RF50 1.2. I've had situations were its way too bright outside and I have to crank my shutter speed all the way up but want to keep at 1.2. What ND filter do you recommend for the RF50 1.2 so that I can keep that f1.2 aperture on bright days? A filter with very low colour cast would be nice.

Freewell sent me their variable ND / CPL. it’s the best I’ve ever used. I rarely use ND filters. I’ve been testing this one and really like it! It’s magnetic also! I’ll have a video for it soon…hopefully soon.

It’s a flash extension head. With all the winds we’ve been having. I use this. So it plugs in to the strobe. That’s what is on the ground. Just the bulb is in the softbox. Peace of mind!

How far do you think it is? The wide angle of the video camera I use makes it look a little further than reality. But I keep it where it gives me the light I need while also keeping it out of my photos. Sometimes it’s close enough and in the shot so I have to Ps it out…which takes longer on the back end then moving the light a little further away.
