Less the sea food counter though. The smell and sight of dead fish makes me want to gip. I struggle walking past the fish counter in my local Morrisons.

April or september are ok weather wise no tto hot and less busy even october
Mt. Ventoux, I've climbed that on my bike and paid my respects at Tommy Simpsons' memorial, course I was about 40 years younger then.
Looks beautiful. Definitely worthy of a visit.
Be there in 3 weeks . Can’t wait . Cheers great vid .
really enjoying these videos from france, thank you. brian d.
Amazing video I love France
Lovely town!
I was there a couple of weeks ago...Superb Festival....All French festivals and musical events are so laid back .........Oh ...Toujours Mange Bien en France...Miam Miam.......
Great video. Loved at 50 seconds when in the background was a beautiful CV2 car. Highlighted the joy of France for me! Keep up the great work.
Wonderful scott thank you for showing me this beautiful place i know zilch about french places so i really appreciate you showing us thanks
Great video. What a lovely city. Definitely want to go to that part of France soon.
I visited nearly all the places you did. Superb city with so much history.
"only the French wouldn't hesitate to drive through a crowd of people" Americans: "hold my beer"
Thank you Scott. Reminded me of our visit many years ago when we travelled there on Eurostar direct from the then London terminus of Waterloo. Stayed in a fantasitic small hotel in the city for what was basically a long weekend away. Those were the days my friend!!
I visited Avignon in May and like you only scratched the surface, spent too much time in the Palais des Papes. Oh and I had to pay an entrance fee to go on the bridge! Thanks for posting the video and giving me the opportunity to see what I had missed, I must to go back some day.
I did not realize Avignon was quite so pretty. Those cicadas sure make a lot of noise! It looks (and sounds) so nice and warm 😌 Here in southern Norway all we got since July is storm and rain every day….15C😑 I really wish for some sun and warmth before winter sets in again 😅
Avignon is indeed known worldwide for the theatrical festival! The same way as Edinburgh... Thank you for the video.
Great video, thanks mate. You did a great job covering most of the areas of Avignon in the short time you had!
👍👍👍
Wow - just look at the selection of lovely fresh food! Rather puts our supermarkets to shame in the UK Not even fresh food counters at Sainsburys anymore. They certainly know how to live in Europe! Thank you for bringing us with you. Your videos are always great.

That'll be Brexit
The huge building at about 12:00 is the Palace of the Popes. The French kings used their influence to move the Pope from Rome to Avignon from 1309-77 (a total of 7 popes during that time). Then, until 1417, they even tried a joint papacy in Rome and Avignon, and the palace housed two more "antipopes." So that's a really old building, but it seems to be in very good shape.
Last time someone decided to drive through my local marche he was hoiked out his car, handcuffed and held at gun point by the gendarmerie. There were pictures on our local FB page.
Been to avignon twice, absolutely gorgeous city.
I remember that wee train being filled with jolly Rangers fans in April 93 pre Marsielles great city and very hospitable people .
The food looks fabulous. I would consider not going during festival time. It gets too congested to get around the city. Don't mind the heat.
I never forget having to learn that song at School, " Sur le pont D'Avignon l'on y danse"
loved this area. I too came for the day as I was staying in Nimes for a few days to see a couple of gigs at the nimes festival back in 2016. Avignon was busy but I loved it.
Fabulous to see Ventoux! Does it, like me, make you think of Tom Simpson?
I adore Avignon. Had a wonderfyl holiday there a few years ago.
Very attractive place!
We used to get the motorail down to Avignon each year and would arrive at the station before 7am with the car unloaded late morning so a walk up to the park on the hill behind the Palais was a highlight of early morning Avignon. Early morning is best for seeing scenery such as Mont Ventoux before it disappears in the haze as the heat gets up.
Greetings Mr. Scott, you can’t have missed Marseille, I’m looking forward to that !
hi you miss the Palais d Pape! thanks for featuring Avignon! ❤🇨🇵
I love the sound of cicadas it reminds me of greece
What an amazing set of videos. ‘Only the French would think nothing of driving through a crowd of people’. Hope you were staying in these unbelievable temps. I admit have barely visited France unlike Germany. Must add Nimes to Paris
Brilliant thank you. The Europeans do history so much better than the UK- the history is living and breathing.
The former popes palace was probably worth a mention?
Oh our Edinburgh castle looks a bit undersized in comparison !
Kinda miss looking at maps in the phone book
Popes Palace is a must-especially without crowds. Just dark history.
Enjoying your travels for long time now, wondered have you ever visited Wuppertal mono suspension railway...
Beautiful old city full of character. I’d spend a fortune on the cheese and cakes.
Scott did you cheat and fly down to Nimes? It’s a good train journey to London Euston, quick walk to St Pancras, Eurostar to Lille and overnight there. Next day train to Marseille or Montpellier (done both a few times) . The worst leg is the UK side!
I bet that is pretty much what wandering round ancient Rome or Pompeii was like. I would love to look inside those non descript town houses.
Very enjoyable video - thanks. Oh, it's Le not La Pont D'Avignon incidentally.
Now do cheese and fish work well together?
Last time we were there it was over 40 deg C. Aircon on our 200 mile journey home failed ,was horrendous. French coach driver nearly passed out !!!
Whilst we are on all things French consider Carcassonne....

Your cheeses 😂😂😂😂🙏❤️
GOAT
how u doing?,excellent , bye, 🤩
What about the Popes' Palace? That's what Avignon is famous for. You just walked past it but ignored it!
You did not visit the royal fortress of the French king on the other side of the river. By comparison, we could see how powerful and wealthy the catholic church was at the time.
Oh scott how can you only call "le palais des papes" a cathedral it was where the popes lived in the 1300's cause of the unrest in italy ,i love that city and go down 4/5 times a year it's only an hour south of where i live on the train,i've spend the night there and when it's all lit up its stunning ,you need to come back to france i have a few treasures i know you'd love in my Drôme département and the ardeche across the Rhône river from me and of course you'd love a city an hour north from me could i possible drop you a message somewhere ?wouldn't want to give away maybe some of you future trips
I love France.... No gernany is better...
Walk With Tim?
een a long time since i visited Avignon. thanks for being back a log of memories, apart from the shops. not a lot else has really changed. although having severe (like fatal) intollerences to Lactose, egg and Soya, there wasn't a lot and often nothing i could eat. Rome was much the same.
