Press play, fast forward
Non stop we have the beaten path before us
It was all there, in plain sight
Come on people, we have all seen the sunshine
We will never get back to
To the old school
To the old rounds, it's all about the newfound
We are the newborn, the world knew all about us
(We are the future and we're here to stay)
We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back, at the faded silhouette
We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back
Look back at the faded silhouette
Straight ahead on the path we have before us
Day by day, soon the change will come
Don't you know we took a big step forward
Just lead the way and we pull the trigger
And we will never get back to
To the old school
To the old rounds, it's all about the newfound
We are the newborn, the world knew all about us
(We are the future and we're here to stay)
We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back, at the faded silhouette
We've come a long way since that day
We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back, at the faded silhouette
We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back
Look back at the faded silhouette

Year 2012 was very meaningful. I just got into the college and met old homies through facebook. and one of my old friends introduced me everything about AVICII. And this track is one of the tracks that I listen every time when I'm going back home. After a few times of heart break with my ex-gfs and finally got into the Army because the country I'm from is South Korea and somehow I started as Local DJ. Now the year is 2019, things have changed a lot. Now I live in Egypt started my life here again and listens to this track. Things got faded while other things got clear and obvious. Our life is like that I guess for all the time. Still I feel happy because I remember the precious old times because of AVICII.

avicii 2008 - 2013
I think this is one of my favorite music videos. Sometimes i get sceptical about things, but one day I realized: Going around and hating(or disliking) other people, doesn't do anyone any good. We need to let other people be happy, no matter if they seem different. No matter who you are: Hate doesn't help. Be happy, be kind. Good day to all of you.

This video has some points that have aged badly, like using a male to play a trans woman or the focus on bottom surgery, but it was so rare to see trans characters treated with respect and empathy back then, and you can feel how happy and fulfilled the character is about her transition in the end. This video was, just like everything else Avicii did, ahead of its time.

What if he tried to explain everyone that for him the only things that really matters are his fans and music he made.. His life wasn't about making a money, his life was about making a music and create something original and also a reason to be proud of. the song "silhouettes" was released in 2012 when I didn't know about EDM music, I tried listening to the EDM song for the first time, namely "You Make Me" also from Avicii in 2015, and until now I have liked the EDM genre because of the figure of Avicii, who The unique thing about this song is the same as the music "You Make Me" where Salem Al Fakir's vocals sound like a woman's voice and I didn't realize it at first, then I listened to a lot of various DJs and EDM music around the world and which is still a My favorite is Avicii and especially this music for me is still the best to this day
One word I can say to Avicii is thank you❤ Avicii u helped me in my worst parts and the best parts in my life. You will always be in my heart and I will never forget you! You are to me so important. You are very very iconic artist and a legendary that many know! You are in many hearts and you are there always. Thank you Tim and I will always play you!
From when I've stopped listening to this type of music, my taste in music has changed a lot over the years. Even as a rock musician, I still don't think people give electronic music producers enough credit. The amount of work they put into their music takes an insane amount of experience and skill. I still can't stress how big of a part Avicii played in musically influencing me, and it saddens me to hear about his passing. It really does. Listening to this song takes me back to middle school, when I had this song and "Levels" on repeat every single night. Thank you Avicii :)

EDM became my drug and i didn't listen another genres anymore. Always listened his tracks, always supported Avicii. He was never my idol or my favourite but his tracks were a milestone for industry. Because of him i met with SHM and their magical stuff, shows. Now i continue my musical journey with SHM guys. I don't want to think what will happen when these guys die, i just hope that not in near future happens bc i cant lift this pain like avicii one. Some changes in life can be tweaked, redone, even reversed. But it's the important choices that will never be reversible. I choose to be who I feel like I should be, and I accept I can never go back. I've come a long way since that day. And I never look back at the fading silhouette.

I think this is my favourite music video ever. I've watched it loads of times now but when I first watched it I thought it was about a couple who were going through a bad patch, and the guy keeping an illness secret and going for surgery, while his girlfriend went around thinking he was just being an ass. I thought while she was out clubbing she would get a call saying he died on the operating table, but when it looked like he was going to catch her in the act with the other guy, but then it turned out she wasn't in the room. I was relieved. BUT THEN it turned out the guy, was actually the girl going through transition. Mindfuck. I love this video because you don't see artists in the charts doing anything for transsexual people, and here is Avicii with an entire music video about a transsexual girl, getting her surgery and then going out and living her life the way she should do! Amazing!
