Aviation Security Passenger Screening Training Video

In recent years the aviation industry has seen the emergence of world-wide attacks against the safety and security of the travelling public, airports, aircraft and other persons working within the aviation industry on and off airport and air navigation facilities.
The counter-measures to these acts against civil aviation can be effective only as long as the people responsible for protecting civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference receive appropriate training to carry out their jobs efficiently and effectively.
This course has been developed to enable trainees to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be better able to implement aviation security preventive measures in accordance with appropriate National and Airport Security Programmes, and prescribed international civil aviation security standards and recommended practices.
The training will enable you to:
• assist in protecting the airport against acts of unlawful interference;
• contribute to the safety and security of the general public; and
» develop a future career in the field of aviation security.

    There's so much wrong there in this video: Security guard is wearing high heels, and will be less mobile on a real job site if something goes wrong between her and the person. Though, high heels shouldn't be allowed for flight attendants or passengers even, these people may need their full mobility on airplanes during evacuations, especially going through wing exits and on broken airplane flooring, they might even puncture escape slides rendering them deflated and useless for other people. Security guard is squatting to do some of this. That is a vulnerable position, even with other guards there, it takes one quick and simple move for that individual to become disabled or dead. Threatening gestures made with wand in close to sensitive areas including at the neck like a baton. Wands should be set sensitive from a better distance or not used if that's not possible. People's defenses are violated and that's a real stressor having to hold back the fight or flight in us with this going on, some people can't do that as easily as others can, especially if having suffered trauma or violence in one's past. Removing a belt could create a bad public scene for people who wear belts to hold pants up on body shapes which pants fall from rather than as an accessory on some body shapes which do not need a belt, same with suspenders. Belts and suspenders should be treated as the pants they are on. And yet with arms spread out, one can't even hold the pants up during this process. Belt buckles are metal, they should be assumed as the visible buckles they appear to be while securely in place doing their job. Feeling for buttons and small buckles, it's mauling the body where metal things do up or adjust the garments, they should be assumed as what they are without a touch unless there are things too bulky to be those items. And the person's toes lit up the wand. I've heard of (steel toes), but those are curved metal toe caps layered into the toe boxes of leather work boots to save from crushed toes, this person had socks only. It appears the wand sensitivity was adjusted for them, how bizarre. Placing all things in the basket. This basket should be in front of the person at all times, as in the guard moves around the person so a person's possessions are always in sightlines of the owner. Though not seen in video, no items should be rejected or taken unless they are actually dangerous as a weapon or have something dangerous to airplane structures in them, taking toothpaste and drink bottles was and is ridiculous if still done. I question how these items could be weaponized and how sizes of them made a difference. And basket of possessions should never go through X-ray with items which can deteriorate, I believe medicines and camera film can become useless or altered though film rolls aren't usually carried these days, that should go for anything which won't come out as was. Also not seen in video, pat-downs. So bad, it's a form of assault, invading personal space especially where strangers need not touch other strangers. With "Please" it is more a falsely placed word, you do it or you don't fly, so it's an order not a request. Maybe take that word out and make the command as gently as possible as a command can be made. As one commenter said, she's too robotic sounding in tone, I found that too and hope this is an early training session for a new student with a trainer or her peer student. No where does a human voice mimicking a robot work with people, especially during commands and instructions. This is one reason I do not fly or go to other places using these wands and employing these guards who wield them. None of it makes sense. If we start taking care of the real troublemakers early on in their lives and work with justice officials to curb crimes, no place, not libraries, sports arenas or even airports will need to treat everyone as guilty before trial. And yes, we have international police services which can and should work with local police services to curb bigger crimes such as terrorism while local police deal with local troublemakers everywhere.
