Aviation Is Hard // Welcome to Average Aviator

I changed the name of the Channel to Average Aviator in order to better represent what I would like this channel to look like. This video goes over what the focus of the channel is and what I want it to be about going forward. I included a brief history of my involvement in aviation to give you some context of who I am and what I do. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below.

As some one who cant stop thinking about their first Cessna flight near Pittsburgh 15 ish years ago, it is really nice to find your channel about an average aviator. Its not just great views but real information about what I can expect if i start taking classes.

I can definitely relate! I have a similar story and I've been in and out of aviation. I'm currently getting back in and in the process of buying my first airplane. A Mooney M20D! I've also been thinking about joining the KZread aviation community in an effort to try to inspire other "older" people who perhaps had to step away from aviation like me (because family life tends to get in the way). Good luck! I look forward to seeing more videos.

Nice! Check out my last video on the M20C I bought if you care to, the M20 series is really hard to beat in my opinion. Its tough to do aviation youtube because its so expensive to make a video with flying in it and the best part of flying cannot be captured adequately in a video. Good luck with your endeavors!

I know this is way after the fact but I gotta say I felt this in my sole! As a prior 135 Boom and current 141 student pilot finally on the brink of my first solo, this video came across my feed at just the right time. From one enlisted aviator to another thanks for paving the way and for keeping it real!

Hang in there man! Love watching your videos! Always been intrigued by aviation, but never had the drive to pursue it. Love that you took the proverbial 'leap!'

Thank you. I just discovered this channel today and I've been gong through a rough spot in my training. I'm trying to get IFR rated at the same time as my commercial certificate and I've ran into the same money issues. Hearing your words is just what I needed right now.

Dude I would like to thank you for doing this video. Many of us love flying but can't relate to many of these millionaire you tubers because none of what they do is realistic for the rest of us. You inspired me to buy a Mooney and you keep motivating people like myself who can't afford the latest g1000.

I appreciate the honesty. Keep your head up. You are not alone. I been in and out of aviation process. I have over 120 hrs and still no private certification. My written has expire and I have to retake it. At this point I am thinking of buying an airplane, possibly mooney. Question, I am 6 foot, 250lbs, will I fit in a Mooney m20c? I will probably be by myself since my wife hates flying.

Life is just like this no matter what you are doing. Sometimes it feels as if you are taking 3 steps backwards. However, God has a plan for you and your family, just listen to Him. I am sure years or even months from now you will look back on this time and wonder why you stressed over it. Love you -- G-ma.

You don’t need a degree to be a pilot.... I am not saying don’t get a degree... What I am telling you is to get your hours and license as soon as you can... this is a great time in our industry and you need to ride the wave up because it won’t last... I am a 320 capt and if you need any advice I will help you.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately the USAF disagrees and will not let me be a pilot without one. I am not saying that is the only route but I do believe that it is the route for me. Thankfully I have finished my degree and am applying for jobs, but it is perhaps the worst time to start in the aviation industry. Hopefully you are doing well in these trying times!

Average thank you. I have been watching a flying channel that was really good. But as the years advanced the planes went from attainable to richy rich. No thank you.
