Got exactly the same story, several years ago: illegal rave in Germany, but no hardcore though, it was a "hi-tech" Psytrance / Psycore party (i.e. faster, around 180-220ish BPM psy stuff). Me and some mates chilling outside, still rolling nuts and then there is the diesel generator...

Don't get me wrong - I'd love to go back in time, too. But those times are often totally over-romantizised. In reality - back then, many, many things were bad. 17-year-olds dying from overdoses, nazi asshole "Gabbers" (aka zwabbers) and a lot of other crap. Fake people going with the hype - you name it. All in all - there is no better time than today. There are big festivals - and plenty true underground Gabber parties mostly in the Netherlands today. I prefer the latter. A few hundred true dedicated Hardcore people going crazy for the music - not due to some illegal chemicals. There - those 16, 17, 18-year olds from back then are now in their fourties - like me. Drug consumption is ~10% of what it used to be. If at all. Many of the big artists are having a good time there, too. Lenny Dee dancing in the middle of the crowd @the peppermill - nobody bothers him. That's how it always should have been - but, unfortunately, wasn't.

It exists, you find it all over belgium/netherlands/germany but mostly underground venues, nowadays hardcore attracts a too mainstream crowd, the real underground sound which is closer to 90s hardcore than modern "hardcore" is the neorave and neo-acid. It mostly evolved out of the hardtechno and industrial scene sound is different, bpm's range from 150-190. but vibe is the same. You won't find too many video's though, the best parties don't allow smartphone camera's because they ruin the vibe, people don't want to see their own drugged up face on social media

'We Have Arrived' is regarded as the first Hardcore track ever made. 2:20 He ain’t wrong. A kick is something you should feel, with bottom end that makes the ground shake. A proper kick will move through the earth and collide with you head-on and displace internal organs. What passes for a kick these days is more akin to someone displacing the contents of their bowels and presenting it in audiobook format. In my day, if someone shit themselves, we only had to smell it, and smell it we did, as we spent 20 mins standing there trying and failing to take a piss (honestly, is there any situation besides a rave where could walk into a shithouse, stand there waiting in a puddle of piss which extends from wall-to-wall, finally walk into a stall only to be met with the sight and stench of a pair of someone’s discarded, heavily soiled briefs, and upon encountering said crap-laden underpants decide “Yes, this is acceptable” as you close the door behind? Ahh good times… But anyway the point is that at least we only had to smell the shit, but at least we never had to listen to it as well! But if those are the type of kicks that todays generation want to party to, then so be it. My time has passed and it’s theirs now, and I wish all of you nothing but the best and hope you have as much fun hanging out with awesome people, listening to music you love, at parties that you wish would ever end. (Still not a kick though)

Gosh, your comment is pure, unadulterated, GOLD ! You perfectly rendered the toilet situation, the bowel incidents and the "come on, come on, pee !". The "audiobook" punchline is priceless ! I subscribe to this word for word. I was also a black-ball eyed guy in this era, with a jawline to die for, and a face-ache lasting till the next weekend. And you're right, that's not a kick ! Thank you, really, for your comment. It gave me a massive laugh and goosebumps waves of memories and nostalgia. 😘

I don't know how I ended up here (at least not by train...), but: nice comment! I wish that big parties / festivals nowadays would have more from the "good old times". WE were at a medium sized festival a couple of weeks ago, and I hated it. Music was nice, weather was perfect. Prices way too high, people were more interested in being seen, Insta- and TikTok*ing, posing in VIP areas and much more. Most of them seemed to forget about enyoing music and life, a nice setting, such things...

It's a remix of a Wasting Program track called Bring That Shit Back, by Arjuna i think, but the short piece of the track heard in the video is a nod to a much older track by Kuadra called La Onda, which had different versions, one of them being harder.
