AVATAR: World of Pandora - Complete Timeline & Recap
Фильм және анимация
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is a sequel 13 years in the making, and a lot has happened in the world of Pandora since the first film, James Cameron’s AVATAR. In this video we break down all the major additions to the Avatar timeline, from comics, games, and more, to deliver you the most up to date chronological timeline of AVATAR: THE WORLD OF PANDORA. As much as this video delves in Avatar History, it also dives deep into Avatar Lore. Hopefully, if the video performs well, we’ll continue this Avatar Timeline when Avatar 3 comes out. The third Avatar is tentatively titled Avatar: The Seed Bearer. Currently Avatar: The Way of Water has surpassed $2 Billion at the worldwide box office.

This is why I love Cameron, I feel like he has the same vision has the fans. It's not about making profit (even tho he does lots of it), he clearly does it out of passion!
Just came back from seeing the 2nd one and had no idea there was THIS much lore and world building to it. It's so cool that you were able to outline this as best as possible and it'll be interesting to see where upcoming titles are placed on the timeline. Keep up the great work!

that's why the hate on Avatar 1 is just for the sake of hating it. The movie's worldbuilding was well done, well-researched and they really put a lot of effort to create it. They created a new language, they even hired a biologist and linguist

It's a bit like the Star Wars prequels - the movies' story by itself is limp, but with the expanded universe to flesh it out, it's awesome.
Seen this after TWOW. Incredible film, I’m completely obsessed with Pandora, the love story between Jake & Neytiri, the whole idea of Jake having a change of heart and going against the evil RDA. I’ve seen the new film 5 times now! 😂😭 maybe a bit too much but I couldn’t get enough of it idk how to describe this feeling I have of complete obsession and fascination with the whole story. I think the reason it’s so compelling is because of the passion every actor has, I mean all the characters have a substance to them and the family message of it all is amazing, it really hits home. Cannot wait for the other ones to come out but for now im gonna enjoy having avatar and the world of Pandora constantly on my mind!

This is amazing. Thank you for all your hard work. You have such a gift for Timeline Chronology. It is incredible that a franchise as big as the MCU, Star Wars or even Avatar hasn't put your talents to more use (proactively, instead of just being a fan nitpicking and holding them accountable for their decisions that could ultimately pull people out of the story). I really do hope that this film does well at the Box Office...and that we get ALL the sequels that James Cameron has planned. Also, the way that you tease stories (espcially the comics/graphic novels) really does encourage fans of this franchise to buy/read them for themselves. Thank you for not spoiling those projects. Overall, this has been done with such care...that your love for the property is abundantly seen. Dakota. Man, my hat is off to you. This is incredible.

@@randomly_random_0 - It will be interesting how quickly it gets to $1 billion. One pundant, Robert Meyer Burnett on The John Campea Show thought it my get there before the weekend (if only we got the International Box Office number by then), but most definitely by the end of the weekend. This really does look like a juggernaught. Wishing for good things for this movie. Whether or not it gets near or surppases the previous film...we will have Pandora with us for the foreseable future every other Holiday Season.
Actually in the pre-show of Flight of Passage it's told that "The RDA practiced bad mining habits over a generation ago". Also quite a few creatures from Avatar - The Way of Water can be seen during this experience. My theory is that the RDA will remain relevant for the Avatar Universe for a little while longer. Personally until the year 2180, once the RDA is removed from Pandora. It takes "over a generation" for the events of Flight of Passage to occur. Since a generation generally means 20 to 30 years, and as described in the pre-show as 'over a generation ago" I would estimate 35 to 40 years after the "removal" of the RDA. So sometime near 2215 or 2220. However this is just my theory, including my thoughts about when the expected year is that the RDA stopped their mining practices.

I think Able Ryder (Avatar Game) canonically sided with the RDA (RDA Choice) and later joined SciOps' rebellion at Hell's Gate during the Battle of the Tree of Souls. The reason for this is that the Na'vi story had Ryder ride a Great Leonopteryx which goes against Neytiri's great grandfather to be the last rider of the Great Leonopteryx until Jake arrived.

You want to experience what more the fictional worlds have to offer. I’m the same way.
Fun fact for all you non gamers out there: The new avatar game "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora", The developers worked closely with James Cameron's production company Lightstorm Entertainment to make sure everything in the game was correct according to all the pre established lore. They wanted to do that so they can make it cannon and maybe even reference it in future movies. The game takes place during the same time period as the second movie, The way of water. pretty cool if you ask me. I've been playing the game recently and if you listen to random Na'vi that are just out there doing there thing and having conversations they say some pretty interesting stuff. I overheard an older Na'vi telling a story to a younger one about a war between two Na'vi clans.

I agree with your assessment that James Cameron has become much more relaxed about others writing stories in his universe, seeing him assign the stories for the sequels to four(?) different writers (granted, he has the last word) and him discussing the idea of someone taking over should he die or become otherwise unable to finish the films. I feel like he has become a more and more pleasant and less self-focused person after Titanic, or since he started working on Avatar.

I was surprised they finally gave us "the Time of the First Songs", which was just a line by Neytiri in the first film. I had guessed it was going to be a few thousand years ago, and turned out to be right, but it could also have been way further back. For additional info, the Omatikaya lived in their specific Hometree for 20 000 years before it was destroyed (or at least the tree was that old), and Na'vi as a species (or genus?) are supposed to be 12 million years old, which I suppose is how they have been able to evolve into such different shapes, adapted for different environments. They still maintain the same language though, because of their connection to Eywa, or passing on their stories in song.
i definitely did not expect neteyam to die.
