Lo’ak’s friendship with Payakan reminds me of when a male humpback whale was protecting marine biologist Nan Hauser from the biggest tiger shark that she ever saw off of the Cook Islands. One year the very same male humpback returned and he recognized Nan Hauser, and she remembered him because of his markings on his skin and the scars on his tail fluke. Now that’s what I call a great example of a real life friendship between a human and a whale, but in this case it’s a friendship between a Na’vi and a Tulkun aka Lo’ak and Payakan.

💙 watched this for the third time in theaters yesterday!
I'll never forget the first time I saw this scene as the preview at the end of the re-release back in September.
I love this movie is soo nice 💙🧜♂️🧜♀️
beautifull scene, watching this in 3D felt like i was with them underwater
The first Avatar movie on DVD have a navi-eye on the front-side. I hope Avatar 2 will have a tulkun's eye. Let's say... Payakan's. Would be also epic, right?:)
Seeing this makes me want to go again. I have seen it 6 times LOL
Lo’ak seems such a nice boy and he has a beautiful friendship with this creature.
The CGI is INASNE!!!! It all looked more real than real life lol
Lo'ak and Payakan have bonded after they saved each other.
You don't know how special this movie became for me, I am a marine biology student from Chile and whales have always been my favorite animal, I admire and love them since I was a young boy, a relationship like Lo'ak and Payakan it's something that I always dreamed.

Don't forget James Cameron insists these aren't whales and banned people from calling them such on set lol. But they are very clearly modelled after them

loaks bond with payakan is so cute
this was so beautiful to watch 💙🐋
I watched this yesterday as birthday gift from my aunt! Movie was good
Such a beautiful scene, in such a beautiful film. I cannot wait for Avatar 3 and everything else in store for this franchise!
I hope they’ll flesh out this relationship in Avatar 3! Heartwarming moment.
As an environmental and climate activist, I can not put into words how much this film means to me. How much I feel every single scene.
So this is why it took so long to release avatar 2 James Cameron waiting for the right better motion capture tech to create these beautiful underwater scenes.

I've just read a comment that said the motion capture actors for Payakan did motion capture for their eyes as well which is why the whale/Tulkun felt so real as a character. James Cameron is an absolute genius and I'm so glad he waited for the right technology to be able to fulfil his vision and I'm glad the studios backed him and allowed him such a big budget
Their friendship is so special. 🥺
Bring Neteyam back
The world has Payakan fever
Best James Cameron sequel of all time
Simply outstanding👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
What a visual,just astonishing ❤️
Magical. Every time.
This is my favourite scene, how these two become friends and go swimming together. The music, the scenery, the emotions... It's just so perfect. ❤️
The Lo'ak Payakan scenes were straight movie magic.
I love this scene since I saw it after remaster A1 in September
Off to the IMAX tomorrow
Outstanding
🥰🥰🥰😍visual wonder👏
Payakan's Revenge is the best part💥
It is just wonderful to join the conversation between this both. In front of all they have nearly the same background. Both have been wounded both need a friend to help. I like the movie very much.
I love them so much 🥺💙
Masterpiece
I was surprised by how dramatic this film was and how much turmoil, death, and destruction there is. It's for good reason of course; to parallel our world and teach us valuable lessons. But it's also difficult to watch at times because it's so intense. James Cameron really ratcheted up the drama to 11!
Avatar 2 is climbing the box office ladder fast! I have no doubt that it will come close or even surpassing the first avatar becoming the first to cross the 3 billion mark!

At this point, after 7 weeks there’s no way it can make another $800-900 million dollars. I think it can possibly make another $150-200 million, maybe $250 but that’s pushing it.

It’s probably going to land at #3 but only if theaters keep it on premium screens. #4 isn’t bad at all. Also, no doubt that it will be Re-released with extended scenes next year before part 3 comes out so that will make it climb even further.
Amazing movie god!
They will always be Besties for life!
When his brother died I started crying 😭😭😭
Lo'ak and payakan 💙
I loved this movie!!!! It was phenomenal
Awesome Avatar: The Way of Water A Friendship Like No Other Video.
