I think that Kiri is literally an avatar of Eywa, her connection to Eywa is WAY too strong for it to be any other way. I reckon when the Omaticya were trying to transfer Grace's soul to her avatar Eywa somehow did something to Grace's avatar to make it pregnant

I just love the way her glowing spots flicker when she's channeling creatures!

I was very skeptical of Sigourney portraying a teenager, but she was terrific, esp. with the physical performance and facial expressions. The older voice is noticeable but for the most part it works within the odd and quirky nature of Kiri.

I get your point, but given that the Avatar franchise is an allegory for indigenous struggles I feel like making one of the lead characters a messiah (a concept from Abrahamic religions) would be pretty insensitive

@@BurningOrchid9888 Not really you do know the Abrahamic religions were born out of a tribal mentality. Ever heard of the twelve tribes of Israel? You're only thinking of concepts in a limited view of history spanning back only a couple hundred years when the concepts you are talking about go back thousands. The only problem with the OC is that Paul was never a messiah in Dune. Plus Avatar isn't really an allegory and has more to do with saving nature then anything else. Plus you could already argue that the Na'vi are offensive as the perpetuate the "noble savage" trope.

@@thedukeofchutney468 I am aware that Abrahamic religious history is older and more complicated than a couple hundred years. But the Na’vi are not based on those tribes. They’re largely inspired by African and Māori culture, both of which were heavily colonized by Christianity in the name of their Messiah Jesus Christ. So to make a lead character a Messiah-type is offensive in my opinion. I would feel the same way if the Na’vi were based on Mexica or Taíno culture. Secondly, allegorical stories can be multi-layered. Avatar can and is both anti-colonialism and advocating for protecting the environment. It’s not one or the other Thirdly, how are the Na’vi the “noble savage” type at all?

Nah, Paul is more like Hitler crossed with Mohammed, and Dune is about the dangers of messiah figures and the havoc their fanatics can wreak. I suspect (and hope) Avatar will go the absolute polar opposite to that with Kiri.

Spider seems in love with her.

Easily one of the best characters ever created in the history of the genre. I personally was captivated by her deep voice - another thing about her that made her different and an "outcast." Mrs. Sigourney Weaver will be remembered for this.

This could be a theory, but I think that Eywa(the Navi's Deity) put Kiri into Grace's Avatar when they tried to transfer her into her own Avatar in the first movie, possibly due to there not being enough time for the transfer to work like how Jake did so having that Avatar produce an offspring so that Grace's consciousness can live on inside of Kiri as when we saw when Kiri connected underground Tree in Way of Water, this could also be the reason why as Kiri can "feel Eywa" as she mentioned before

She's the unsung hero of the ending fight!
