We're absolutely getting siege. All 8 episodes will cover all of season 1, Yue and Pakku and Arnook and Han and everyone were cast.

If you think about it, the first season was 20 episodes, 30 minutes long give or take. They should easily be able to squeeze in season one into 8 1 hour long episodes. That’s about 2 hours, give or take, of screen time that needs cut but I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff we wouldn’t even realize was cut. I feel like 8 hours is plenty of time to fit in 10 hours of the original.

I've watched a whole heap of reactions from both big and small creators over the past few days and you're the only one I've subbed to because I just love your energy and I can see your genuine deep attachment to the show. Watching the apprehension melt away from your face as the trailer went on was so good, I think it really conveys a lot of the same feelings most of us had going into this. I know this is kinda lazy by me for not putting it into my own words but it's easier to just copy paste a great comment I found in another reaction video. "The original creators did leave over creative differences however, it is important to know that the person who took over as showrunner was also involved in producing the animated series and before they left the team, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko - the two guys who created the animated series, sat down with Albert Kim, the guy who took over, and they had detailed talks about the back stories and other details. So control stayed in the hands of someone who had significant involvement in creating the original show and the actual creators of the animation did have a great deal of input to this live action before they left. Remember the project started in 2019 and they worked on it until June 2020 before leaving and the shooting started November 2021 - which means the original show creators were on the team for most of the development and much of the writing. Also important - my understanding is that just about everyone involved in the live action were already big fans of the animated series. One last point - now I may be wrong here as there is a bit of reading between the lines, though mostly this is just putting all the official statements I have heard, but I believe the reason the creators left was that they wanted to explore aspects that were not in the original series but which they had thought of back then and decided they didn't have enough time to include, or in some cases they gave hints in the animated series but now they wanted to expand. Netflix wanted them to hold a bit closer to the material already done because they were afraid that if too much new material was added it might not be accepted by the fans. So while the presentation of a lot of things will be changed and some things such as the attack on the air temples which was only spoken of but never shown in the animation will be added. Netflix was not comfortable about entirely unknown story lines being added in. Now, IF that understanding is correct, then I'd say this is a case where the departure of the the original creators is not that much of a bad sign. Not to say I wouldn't want brand new lore added, but I'm much more interested in the presentation of the lore that already exists - and it seems that is not where the creative difference lay."

I've followed closely Avatar News updates back then and I have a lot of faith that Netflix and Albert Kim specifically wanted to make a faithful adaptation. Bryke hired Albert firsthand and he got to consult Bryke on things before Bryke left. So I have a lot of hopes in that or if not maybe Albert had just worked on strengthening or enhancing the plots to make it make more sense and how to translate that well to live action. Lmao I'm completely biased so I am positively hyped overall. Fingers crossed hope the show exceeds our expectations in a good way 🤞🏼

I enjoy per-episode reviews. Korra has a number of back-to-back depressing episodes (in either s2 or s3?) and that made it a bit difficult to watch. I hope this one is better at pacing the episodes. I love your energy in this video, and @2:39 you look super adorable!

The original creators and Netflix had different ideas on which parts to change. And they got offered Avatar studios by Nickelodeon. Where they have complete creative freedom. So I hope it’s mostly that Carefully hyped for the show
