I absolutely love how lighting is used here, it’s amazing. The two prominent examples is the first scene of Aang starting in the dark while flashing images of his tribe showing how they were leading him down a dark path ignoring his needs and wants to be the avatar but then katara brings him to the light as she is the one who saved him metaphorical (by being his mentor and lover) and physically (saving him from the ice), and Zuko in the shade going to the light to show his conversion to being good

@@KatoBeyond Yup. The first season has some differences but nothing major. And as far as I remember the second season is as close as possible to manga. But, more importantly, it has no pacing issues or weird plot points created by the adaptation.

0:33 - Love how they all have they're own running/walking styles. I really love how Zuko and Toph run, Zuko kind of has a strong stif-posture which matches him perfectly. Toph is more so chill and laid back. Nice detail! Anyways, wish you luck on your Art-Journey!

It's alright but it looks like most of the scenes in this are just traces from magi. Like Zuko running and him using fire and the angry avatar state are just 1 for 1 straight ripped from magi. But it's made from love and a good place so I cant be mad.

I love how Katara is portrayed so happy in this. While she was the responsible one, she was just as young as everyone else and had fun too.

ATLA started airing in 2005-2008 back when everything was simple. I can't imagine an ATLA in 2021 where everything is filled with identity politics and woke nonsense. Even the core messages in ATLA would get cancelled in today's socio-cultural world. NF is just gonna ruin it beyond saving.

ATLA teaches us that humans are still part of the same human race despite cultural and social differences. Ultimately what defines the individual is the individual itself as a human being, not some superficial attribute like race and gender. ATLA teaches us color blindness. Don't treat people based on their skin color, but by the content of their character (to borrow a quote from MLK). ATLA emphasizes the importance of equality, not equity. Everyone should be treated equally under the law. No one should be given preferential treatment based on gender, race or nationality.

All a trope is is a concept that is highly reusable and thus present in nearly all stories. Think the wise old man trope-a trope that Avatar executes perfectly. A cliché is a trope that has been done to death and has almost or entirely no way to make it original, thus being highly immersion detracting. Such as winning with the “power of love,” or naming your child “hope” during a time of conflict (two cliché’s that Avatar has used that I can remember).
