It could be a bonus from Hunter Gatherer given the name, similar sounding mix, and long ass outro ambience.

I feel like it has something to do with Franz Kafka´s book "The Metamorphosis". It is about man, who changes to bug and tries to live as before, but he isn´t taken seriously by his own family. Really recommend this book.

Everyone is pointing out the riffs and the vocals but can we talk about how awesome the production is? I love how seamlessly the piano and the strings match with the guitars, and the subtle synths at the beginning (much like on Hunter Gatherer) give the track such an apocalyptic ambience. Yet another extremely creative song from the band, and I can’t wait to see what they do next!

Discovering them for the first time was so exciting!! I’m now a full-blown fan and officially a citizen of Avatar Country! They’re one of the most creative, talented, quirky, and genuine bands in metal. Everything from the music, to the videos, to the promotions, to the live shows and so forth is just so very well done!

I saw them a couple of years ago when I took my son to see Trivium. I hadn't heard anything by them. Their show was so fun (the only band people where the crowd demanded an encore), and now I have all their albums. Wish we could see them again but for some reason everyone is coming to my area at the same time and I can't see everybody.

As always, this band DOES NOT disappoint! Was not expecting a full new track, but I shouldn’t be surprised-these guys seem to have boundless creativity. I was getting the same vibe trying to figure why they were using kinda the same as the haunted

So, since I haven't seen anyone explain what they think the song is, I will go ahead and give what my Dad and I think: This is about the Singer and how he had to put a show on for the world, acting like a "normal boy" instead of himself (Definitely a boy going through Puberty). He first sees people like himself on TV and knows he isn't alone. But, he has to cover that side of him and be what people want him to be. Yet, a part of his true self comes through and he is punished again. After the crowd attacks him at the end, he realizes 'Screw it, I'm just gonna be myself since they are gonna hate me either way'. The whole line of 'If I only had a friend like you' is about him seeing the people on the TV like him and after he becomes himself, he is a mentor for others, saying he wished he had someone who encouraged him to be himself. The tour is called Going Hunting because it is the band saying 'Screw it, we are gonna do what we like and go on tour no matter what others think'.

I like your interpretation. For me personally, with all the "monsters in suits", it reminded me of the corporate world. The bug is a bug because that is how he presents himself to others in the workplace. Just someone to be squashed and looked down upon. Once the bug makes a "mistake" (showing some of his true self hidden inside), the monsters (you could call them the bosses) show no forgiveness and throw him out. The dancing scenes could be interpreted as the bug "dancing" or "acting" for the bosses pleasure. The ending of the video is the bug finally coming out of his shell, becoming a monster in his own right and flying free of all the crap he's had to put up with until now. As a title, "Going Hunting" could represent the process of job hunting, where candidates are often discarded for one reason or another. I doubt this is what was "intended" by the song and video producers, but this is the personal impression I got out of it. Especially as a young adult in this money centric world.

I think the song is about child abuse. A kid is abused and the parent thinks it's just punishment for their bad behavior. The kid gets lonelier and lonelier wish he had a friend but he can't even go outside anymore, so he starts collecting rocks and skeletons and yet again the parent finds them and thinks the kid has a weird obsession and abuses them again

This song is in the key of f minor. For some reason I'm geeking out about it because that probably means a different tuning (C standard most probably), as this would have been really inconvenient to play in Avatar's usual B standard tuning. Be it as it may, I just love when bands introduce keys that are a bit unusual in their repertoire. It makes the song instantly stand out.

That’d mean they’re going back to C Standard. They played in C standard for the first three albums, and from Black Waltz on its B standard with maybe 3 or 4 exceptions. If they’re going back to C standard they can totally mess with some cool sounds and keys

I think this song is in drop A because Tim is using his RGD and that guitar is in A Because it has an edge zero with the ZPS which makes drop tuning easier unless he just used it for the video but if they play this live he only has 2 guitars that could do it

I have told everyone I know about Avatar for the last 6 or 7 years! They’re such an amazing band! Johannes has such range with his vocals I love how he can go from growling like a beast to singing better then anyone else I have heard (live ) he is truly talented! Then you add his charisma mixed with Tim and Jonas being both a total badass lead guitarist . Henrick with his sweet face and amazing base But let’s not forget then quite but unforgettable John on the drums without him the sound of Avatar wouldn’t be the same. But then They’re just a perfect combination! And watching their videos they all seem so relatable, and that we all could be their friend. I wish nothing but the best for Avatar because they definitely deserve nothing less 🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🤩

I'm really surprised that Johannes didn't find a spot to put at least one heavy vocal in, but I applaud the restraint. I honestly haven't cared much for anything since Hail The Apocalypse, but this song changed that. His clean vocals and vibratos killed it, and the instrumentation was great. Well done, guys! Keep 'em coming!

You need to respect the balls it takes to make this video. There are no shortcuts like in real life, where darkness covers up things you don't want people to see well. You don't add shadows like this to hide your models, but because lighting is a color you can paint with, too.

A masterpiece. Plain and simple. The video, the music, it all clicks into place like a fine tuned gear. I hope to eventually see them live. I would die happily.

I saw this band on a metal fest, can't get them out of my head ever since. Strongly recommended!

For me, it exemplifies exactly how the world outside our rooms, our homes works, they are always hunting us, one day of the hunt and another day of the hunter, is how society works.

I mean I come here to listen to a new Avatar song and once again of course they knock it out of the park, always killing it. Like this band is amazing. Just amazing.

The first song I heard by avatar was hail the apocalypse. Instantly knew they were something special.

Its so insane how they always come up with incredible new songs. Guys you really need to check out all of their songs. Even most of their lesser streamed songs are amazing.

The whole piece from 3:52 to 4:52 reminds me of King Diamond and Andy LaRocque and the way they make their songs. Absolutely brilliant if you ask me.

This is a good one for sure. But I think my favorite is Hail the Apocalypse.

Imagine what happens if avatar collaborated with other bands.... they're a masterpiece on their own.
