Definitely the best animals to hunt are the thanators and stormgliders. One thing I'd recommend looking at is getting the navaos mushroom pie as gives a perfect gather for materials you pick and gives a permanent 15% buff to them too. Also use the pale items in stuff you craft for best results. Got a shortbow that does 204 damage and does 15% more damage per shot, my spearthrower does 405 damage and my heavy bow does 345 damage

A better recipe is to use a PALE fire seed as the main ingredient and a vineshroom as the second. This only gives one buff but it’s a 20% stat increase for items you gather instead of a 15% buff. Try it out and see which one is better. As for hunting, I find the heavy bow best for hunting all animals unless I’m missing a reason to use the other bows.

@erenjeager5290 Thanks I'll definitely have to check that one out and see how it turns out. My only problem with the heavy bow is the draw is pretty long and I think the damage could be better to make up for it

that is definitely true, the heavy bows damage isn't that much higher than the others, for the long draw back, its more or less for sniping but I use it for everything lol @@SubaruWRC1996

It’s likely because if they did include it, you couldn’t ride it/bond with it because the game is canon and that would be contradictory to the movies. I think they took the safe route and left it out entirely because the backlash would have been more severe if it was in the game and untamable. Same goes for bonding with a Thanator. As cool as it would be, it doesn’t make sense due to the natural temperament of Thanator’s; Neytiri’s bond to one in the first movie was incredibly rare, special, and super circumstantial. That was more of an act of Eywa than anything because the RDA would have defeated the Na’vi if the wildlife hadn’t helped turn the tide of the battle. I see why people are upset about it, but it makes sense for the game makers to do this since they are keeping true to James Cameron’s universe.

Did the fix the I think it’s the master crafter apex skill where it buffs the stats on the hunted and gathered items? Cause I had it unlocked but it wasn’t updating the stats and would bug them out making crafting harder

WOW now this is a well done video, how come you don't pop a lot higher on google searches? you even have more likes then the first two I watched put together. but to be honest the fact that you have to make a video telling people how the map works and now to use a guide when the game is TELLING us to use it... just show how dumb the common player is getting. as for me I only came looking for finesse ideals cause I hunted two high level scarab crawlers and only got shells from them the one time I got a clean kill on one before (a young one early game) it stood up on it's hind legs after I shot at it so I was wondering if there was away to get it to do that again and I was just missing it.

I don't know how to get them to rear up on their back legs, other than simply waiting for them to do it, not a creature I hunt regularly just hunted it for the video and got it on the first attempt.

Did they patch the Thanator cliff thing every time he shows up he runs off and I get on the lower part but he doesn’t come to me and when I touch the ground he teleports to me and kills me

I have no idea, in all honesty that was pretty much the first time i hunted him like that and it worked, he did run from me and i went after him and he did appear behind me but i got him before he got me. i can go back and fight him again to see if it was potentially patched or if i just got lucky.

I haven't beaten the game yet but I've pretty much cleared the stuff with the clans, I don't think that's going to be an option plus there is no sign of the creature it's self in the game, but we can always hope
