Xetulul and Xocomil theme parks in Guatemala are awesome!

2018 was the last time I visited the park, and I went on this coaster. I know its iconic since it's pretty much the first of its kind in Guatemala. Sadly the high usage paired with very low maintenance makes this a head banger. It's been quite some time since the coaster first opened, yet it still captivates the attention of local and foreign visitors with its many inversions, but I think it's time to change the restraints, and maybe some maintenance. Until then it'll continue being a high excitement coaster with a fair amount of lateral Gs, that isn't as fun as it used to, at least not for the rider (specially in the back).

Colossus which is basically a clone of this in the uk with two extra heartline rolls has a bit of a reputation as a headbanger, I’d love it if they’d stump up the money to buy a set of current generation intamin trains with lap bars as it could be a pretty great coaster

I love rollercoasters but this is exactly the reason I won't ride this rollercoaster anymore and it is the reason I don't recommend it: the headbanger issue.

@@neonguts5324 and Monte Makaya today is with the group that have Mirabilandia park in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It is going to be reopened on the new park of Mirabilandia in the small city of Paulista, in Pernambuco. I live in Recife, near Paulista (20 min) and I visited Mirabliandia of Recife 7 times. I am looking forward for this new park, it is going to have a GIB (Giand Inverted Boomerang) and the original Monte Makaya!! (Im a big brazilian Mirabliandia fan)

Very good! It seems to be exactly the same as the old and thrilling Monte Makaya in Terra Encantada (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). I have ridden in several times, and it was very good! 😃

avalancha is my favorite roller coaster i went on it ten times in one hour and some of the times i had my hands up the hole time

Actually, all Roller Coasters with this layout are clone of the first original one which was made in 1998, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (with its 8 inversions too), but nowadays exists clones with 10 inversions. The first one is called "Monte Makaya" and the amusement park where Monte Makaya stands is closed nowadays unfortunately.

I went on it in Terra Encantada (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - near my house 🤭) several times. It was very good!

Like Colussus at Thorpe Park, but minus the last two inversions. There is another Intamin 8-inversion ride besides Avalancha and Monte Makaya (it's in China)

There's the defunct original, Monte Makaya in Terra Encanta, Brazil. There's of couse Colossus in Thorpe Park, UK, there's a clone of Colossus in Chimelong Paradise, China (as you said) named 10 Inversion Roller Coaster, there's this one and then there's a fifth one in Harborland, China called Flight of the Phoenix which also has 8 inversions.

Hey Coasterforce, have any of your members become sick while filming? Or for that matter, anyone else on the ride become sick (and getting in the camerashot), causing you to have to redo the fliming?

yes this was made before colossus and is made by the same company. This is the 8 inversion model of the same design as colossus is. Colossus is the 10 inversion model.

That's because it is an exact copy of Collusus at Thorpe Park... im guessing it was made my the same manufacturers though as it opened 3 months after Collussus opened

Zamperla flyer. I felt very unsecured by the restraints. There is little that prevents you from falling out on the lift hill.

Well except for the double helix at the end. But it is made by Intamin AG so no surprise there

everysingle time my grandparents go to guatemala on vacation they go to this amusment park becuz my uncle's job pays for them so they get in free and last time my other aunt went on this when she got off she was shaking and was pale/pail (i dont know how you spell it)

Hello, This ride is the same coaster as colossus in the U.K Its an intamin looping coaster as is colossus, the park can select how many loops it has but the layout stays the same.

yeah.. both... colossus its cool.. but those 5 inline twists get a bit annoying... i mean.. headache.. u know?

This is the only one coaster in Central America in Guatemala... Were poors but at least weve fun

For one... theres only a couple people who film for coasterforce. One is East Coaster General or Ian Bell. And they always get permission beforehand so no.

Actually, it isn't an exact copy. This only has 8 inversions, while Colossus has 10. This is in fact a clone of Monte Makaya, a coaster that opened 4 years before Colossus did. So this is a "copy" of Monte Makaya, and Colossus is also a near copy of Monte Makaya.

Not a bad coaster as it turns you upside down from what I counted 8 times using 3 different inversions. The track almost looks like the same type used on the Great American Revolution at Magic Mountain.

Yes. This was made by intamin, and new revolution by Schwarzkopf. The reason why the design kd similar, is because Skator provided the same track to both companies
