    Like at least one other person mentioned, I’m currently using the Jackery 1000 and will eventually upgrade to the Bluetti 2000 lithium battery 🔋 power generator. Both offer the option of charging from solar briefcase panels in a pinch. Both have built-in options for charging with the cigarette lighter plug or an AC plug 🔌 and can output via cigarette style plug, USB and 110/120 household sockets. They’re self-contained and don’t take up much space. Literally the whole unit isn’t much bigger than one of those lead acid batteries. Eliminates the need to figure out wiring schemes, fuse boxes, etc. “Eezy Peezy” as you’re known to say, Brother! The days of lead acid batteries, power inverters and all the extra wiring and installation are short numbered, IMHO. God Bless!

    Do you not have a "smart alternator" on your van? I was told I would need a DC to DC charger to charge the aux battery. That the variable charging alternators will not supply enough volts to the aux battery once the primary battery is at full charge. Is that not true?

    Hey man great video!! Just a little confused on why you didn't add a battery isolator or a charging cable. You just ran the power from the first battery. I'm assuming that your starter battery is equal to your auxiliary?? If not how do they charge?

  • @EverythingApax

    @EverythingApax

    Жыл бұрын

    There is a simple on/off switch between the start battery and the auxiliary batteries. I'd prefer an isolator, but at the time I didn't know of one that would work.

    What's the most kilowatt hours worth of battery youve put into a van?

  • @ronrandall7118

    Allan, so if you install a roof-top A/C unit, is there any way to power it other than running the engine or using a generator? A generator added to either the front or rear of the van looks like your taking the mother-in-law with you; it's totally out of place. Also, the noise from running the generator. Any other solutions? Don't say fans; I can't sleep in a 90 degree box with roof exhaust fans.

  • @EverythingApax

    @EverythingApax

    2 жыл бұрын

    No other options that I'm aware of. The sound of the generator is drowned out by the ac running. Get the ac set up with a soft start or hard start I can't remember which it's called, but get it installed and it will allow for a smaller generator which gives you more options to store or mount it.
