the problem is that biology is intelligence. its intelligence that evovles not mindless process. mutation happends by learning not by chance. artificial intelligence does the same thing. it can mutate behavior by learning and by copy the program in two, the two programs can take different paths and even cooperate.

insects have vision, smell, hearing. they are like mammals exept more evovled. they have still sceletial scull, but no bone as the exterior shield is grown into the scull. they have some bone like structure in their legs then. anyway, life came into existence by learning. the level of intelligence have been very limited in the most primitive forms but still drives mutation. life mimics those life forms they interacted with that led to a mutation with those they interacted, a version was recreated in the mutated offspring. perhaps the first cell was just a air bubble inside a piece of clay where some microbes learned how to mutate by reproducing the cavity as a cell membrane.
