Automobiles Of Distinction - Episode 7 | The Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0L Widebody

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The epitome of the 80’s and 90’s power, success, and style - the Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody. An era-defining icon with its’ wide arches, menacing appearance, and endless list of bespoke customization options, this is the pinnacle of Pre-Merger AMG. With an estimated 50 examples produced, the 560 SEC AMG is among the rarest pre-merger AMG cars extant.
This 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody, delivered new by AMG Japan, is no exception, and is likely the only example of its kind. Produced in the stunning Malachite Green, chassis 604851 received an unprecedented level of outfitting by AMG Japan, as evidenced by the extensive level of personalization it received when new; from Recaro CSE seating with upgraded leather and piping, extended wood trim, leather trimmed gauges, a highly uncommon wing on the deck lid, to a Nakamichi stereo system and more. Highly original throughout, and documented, authenticated, and recommissioned by the experts at Blue Ridge MB, this is a peerless example of AMG's definitive hot rod.

560SEC AMG WIDEBODY is one of the best cars ever made !!!! Work of art , Mercedes at its finest, car was 20 years ahead in technology and design ! The owner gave the best description of what those ultimate classic muscle cars are , he knows what he’s got ! I love the latest Mercedes AMG but I still believe you can’t top the WideBody SEC AMG , this is the ultimate bad arse Mercedes!

Premerger Benz coupes are just the best of all worlds. Luxury, styling and performance and build quality at the maximum. I have a 1995 E320 Coupe. It's been bulletproof for the most part. I would love an AMG Widebody someday. Great video. that thing shifts so strong

Very happy to find your channel and first vid I see is w/ Jono. He has been helping people in the 126 world for many years on various MB lists, both on and off line. A very standup person who knows what he is talking about and gives back to the MB world.

no no no THANK YOU!!! ive been a premerger fan since the miami vice pilot episode. i watched every single one didnt miss a week. it was same time i fell in love with Ruf before the 211mph ctr yellowbird(there arent yellowbirds its singular there are several yellow ctr's but that was a specific car) the same with these premerger cars. i just put someone on blast this evening. i wanted to help him know the facts. i refered to a car like this but called it a hammer. well sadly ive heard it too many times and now i just go apeshit. thank you for being such a top notch spokesperson for these cars. you must be very good at what you do to have the ability to be offered these cars to purchase. this is the second unique spec and color merc. the blue ce is cool but the coupe amg tp me should be a 126 and no narrow bodies. the only hammer in my eyes is johnathans s124 and the others need to be sedans, again thats what i prefer. i dont really consider the ce's hammers but i know they can be.but when they were made and got their name and became such an icon was because the ethos was to put the biggest v8 in the midsize platform. thats what made them so special. it invented the idea of the uber sedan. using the 124 e class with a co. drag of .24 it was on a different level. thats the only car tha t would be able to to reach the 178 it did and it was the sleekest car to that date to ever be more aerodynamic and able to efficently cut through the air with the least amount disruptions that would have prevented a 4 door sedan from ever being as fast as an exotic. in addition it had to go thru a whole additional host of changes to make it stable and prevent overheating and being able to get enough air the cool the brakes enough to not fail when slowing from 180mph. in 1986. people dont realize that tire technology have never kept pace with performance. i think the the v was the highest speed rated tire that was road legal. the z rated i believe wasnt even in production. i was a specialty tire that was only for non- road legal cars. still to this day the tires are the biggest factor into reaching speeds that we have capability to make these car go 300mph. i think the hammer had p7 pirelli which was the high performing tire and i think not positive that amg did some testing using goodyear tires maybe the vr but i think they were special as well. now this bulging muscle man was more of a gangsters car. this couldnt be more different than what the concept of the hammer was. i adore these but if i could have a 4 cam m117 6.0 126 sedan id take it over a sec as long as it had what id want in a sec. the limited slip , the CSE's got to have had the nakamichi option . holy crap. i just started typing my thoughts sorry for yacking on i just never get to talk about these cars because they werent know about my most until more recently. this green one has had a interesting history too which makes it even cooler. i'll shut up now. i havent even got to the first min of video. i just started typing knowning you would be one of not many people who knows these cars and loves them like i do. again thank you for sharing this utter legend and icon of the high performance tuning industry. holy shit im so excited to finish watching this.... cheers

This is the ultimate expression of the Mercedes ethos IMO. Much like the 2001 BMW 740i was the ultimate expression of the BMW ethos. This wide body SC just captures ideally what the design language could express better than any other Merc before or since. Everything is there from "how things were", married to burly muscularity and just enough of a forward look to foreshadow the future. Irregardless of the mechanics, its desing is what has always stirred me, now just as much as back when it was manufactured.

@@Rapaglia1 People also ask Is irregardless a correct word? Is irregardless a word? Yes. It may not be a word that you like, or a word that you would use in a term paper, but irregardless certainly is a word. It has been in use for well over 200 years, employed by a large number of people across a wide geographic range and with a consistent meaning.

yes Mr. hodgeman. i think these are closely regard like a Ruf car. in the early -emnd of the 80's mercedes and porsche were building the highest performing and the 100% of there tech and cutting edge engineering to produce a car that was the best you could buy. so when they said heres the best we can offer so when they are willing to let another company take the best of what porsche could engineer. they gave RUF a car that essentially had they not been bodies in white Alois and his team would have taken the best of porsches engineering aand throw every single bit of it and throw it in the trash. so they could build it some much better that they were able to become there one manufacturer. never before and never since would a car company say we know you do this way better than us. we dont want to waste anything so we are just going to give you the only part left once we remove everything we spent 50years perfecting and developing. its definately something could have only been with these two groundbreaking companies that are now the icons that had they not done what they did we might not have realized that a porsche or a mercedes could have been taken up 5 notchs from the current quality performance and style of the top of the line best you could have. thank you Johnathan. please do a updated look into the current goings on inside the worlds most premier premerger mercedes pcialist workshop. epic video. best ive seen in months. cheers

385hp right? Stratton and Chicago were no longer when the m119 was developed as well. I thought. I also thought the cars produced at amg Japan were solely 6,0 liters in displacement. I wasn't aware that there was hybrid m117/119. I thought that that m119 was an evolution of the 117 and what they learned from stroking those motors. isn't the m119 a 6.0l from its inception. holy shit I thought I was sufficiently educated on these obviously I -the rookie need to hit the showers then the books. see that's why student is the student and the master is the Hodgeman. my brain is in limp mode. again my thoughts just spew when I start thinking about these cars. thank you for taking the time to educate us on these cars. im clearly not even in the same state as the ballpark Jonathan is in. im embarrassed. but very much obliged . thanks cheers
