Tbh I don't think they hate it, mainstream channels just go with the flavour of the month and tend to favour the likes of Samsung and apple, they're crowd pleasers. People who are actually into photography know there's more to it.

I have the xperia 1 v and i'm telling you, this phone is for people that know what they are doing it with the camera. Manual mode gives you full control.

I think it's good for anyone but people who know how to use a DSLR get the added bonus of being able to use the pro manual mode too to get the most out of it 👌

Great channel, however if I hashtag you can you take the photo and suggest better edits? I am getting better but Lightroom Mobile is still a mystery to me 😀

Thanks I really appreciate 😃 the hashtag feature will mainly be to feature people's work, not as a critique point of view. It'll be there for everyone to take inspiration from and see different places and locations, that's the main purpose of it. After all everyone is unique and each and everyone of us will have different editing techniques. Hope that makes sense 👍

Great channel. Pretty much only use manual on my 1 V. Basic is ok for the added effects I guess, and bokeh mode. This phone does tend to over-expose, especially the sky, so I always under-expose.

I always end up overexposing my photos because it looks darker on the screen on the xperia 1V than it comes out.

@@JensVesterChristiansson-wr4lz I get you, that's how mine were. But I switched to using the histogram and keeping it under-exposed, sure the screen is dark but you have to trust the image will be fine and better in post process.

What I have noticed is in manual mode this phone will sprinkle noise over the image on anything above ISO 320. I get the limitations of the sensor size etc, but I am looking forward to the 1 VI and rumoured "DSLR" killing tech. We'll see. Plus noise can be handled and the manual control with natural colours still beats the AI photo processing iPhone/Samsung/Pixels produce. There's a better sense of achievement when you get a great shot, a bit like manual gears Vs automatic in a car

@@JensVesterChristiansson-wr4lz Also bare in mind the telephoto and wide angle aren't as good with light as the main (24mm) lense. If shooting with them they may need a bit more exposure, especially in dim-low light. Avoid ISO above 400 too, loads of noise. An independent light source would be better, or switch to basic for those.

Thanks 👍 to be honest you can't really go wrong with any of those 3 phones ! They all allow for full manual control and have shutter button. Pro-I is getting older, 5V doesn't have a telephoto lens but allows for 48mm shooting but the 1V has a telephoto lens but does not have 48mm focal length... It's all about your budget and what you value most but once again you cant really go wrong with any of them, hope that helps

I'm not a "professional" , I have said before , I don't take photographs for a living so technically makes me an enthusiast. Again it all depends what you value and what your style of shooting involves. If you want a long telephoto lens go for the 1V, if you don't go for the 5V and if you want to save money go for the older Pro-I. If you know what you're doing with a camera, regardless of the phone you pick you'll be able to take great shots 👍

what happened at 6:46? the basic auto looked better lol. the raw edited , especially on the scultures of fthe arc looked so out of focus

I reduced the depth of field in post, now obviously with YT compression it probs makes it look worse but to my eyes looks better than the auto which has everything sharp from foreground to background. This photo lent itself to have the new Adobe AI lens bokeh effect added where you select what is in focus and what is not. And since I wanted the thin plane of field where the 2 subjects were to be in focus, the rest would be slightly blurred out. Don't get me wrong that cannot replace a real shallow depth of field you'd get with a DSLR but liked the result better than the pin sharp and over crispy auto jpg, hope it makes sense 👍

@@iGhost tbh really don't get the hate on that telephoto, as another user has highlighted it may be possible that different modules were used depending on manufacture region as there seems to be drastic difference between their experience and mine !
