@@TangoTekLPtbf it's a really cool concept for which the output rate is only capped by lag performance, so it's actually revolutionary. And it's always cool to work & develop a custom, innovative solution, esp. since the output with 200 villagers seems on par with a standard witchfarm Edit: That it doubles as a lapis farm is also pretty nice even if useless lol

Tango: builds insane Redstone and portal things. Struggles x2 with teeny chicken in a boat and says, "I'm not very good at this." 😂 Struggles a bit to get it aligned 100%. Docm77: also builds insane Redstone and portal contraptions. Struggles for 20 minutes to get a Llama aligned 100% accurate in a minecart. Teleports Scar 4 million blocks away from Spawn and asks, "Did you get off the pig?" Meanwhile, me kills the Llama for a leash and eats the chicken... and both of them remind me how darn good I am at doing stupid things. 😮😅

But you really shouldn't need 100 lapis every 30 seconds for enchanting... and there are MUCH easier ways to get blue dye. That said, its important to recognise that if it was multiple types of villiages you could get in this farm. This probably is a superior way to get Leather then pigman bartering and maybe better then a cow farm.

This is a fascinating look into the process of developing one of these farms, and even with the witch drop buffs coming, I still think this farm will have its advantages - mostly flexibility. Once raids are done via potions, the HotV farm can be *anywhere* instead of being location-locked like witch farms; and of course, you can choose to farm any villager-dropped items just by choosing different villagers. A true Tango masterwork once more.

the Hero of the Village farm concept has been around for awhile. I first saw it on Methodzz's channel, they've used it on SciCraft as their main source of redstone since they dislike the use of raid farm, ilmango has made a video about it titled "SciCraft 2: 20,000 Redstone Dust Per Hour As A Gift (Episode 5)". Other concepts have also been made by people like Stromne or Kayzm who have also published videos about them and there are a lot more that are not published on KZread.

This is an amazing HotV farm. What would be really neat is "banks" of villagers for different items. I.e. press a button and the 200 clerics drop down a chute and along a water stream into lazy chunks so no lag (lazy while using the farm, you'll have to load them for water streams/minecarts to move villagers), then another 200 villagers (fletchers, masons, etc) got fetched from lazy chunks by water stream and loaded into the loot chamber. Then the redstone/lapis farm could be a clay/arrow/leather/wool farm on demand.

On a server I used to play on, I actually would use hero of the village because in the "town" section only passive mobs would be allowed. Basically peaceful mode in said part of the server, but you could teleport to another world which was basically the wild, and has the nether, end etc. So because you couldn't zombify the villagers and convert them there was no way to decrease their prices. I then realized hero of the village might work, went to the wild made a simple raid farm area to get hero of the village one at a time, travel back to "town" and my villagers would start tossing items and decrease their prices. It worked well enough, except yeah there was a cool down after the first 30 seconds, so I would only get 1-2 drops a day, and there was no way to travel to the neither in "town" but I guess I could have done it in the wild but that would have involved more steps. I did however realize that I could leave said server and join one of the other servers and do stuff while waiting for the day to pass (if I couldn't sleep and pass the day which most of the time you couldn't because no one else would sleep) and come back for a min. to receive more gifts and my hero of the village timer didn't go down while I was away. Thus making it seem like I logged off the server while the day continued to pass in the server. The gift's weren't much and thus only used it to get decreased prices to buy stuff but I still set up a decent villager trader design that was also hero of the village compatible with a hopper minecart going around underneath picking up items. Pretty sure I was one of the only ones who was doing it since no one else would bother with hero of the village. Also side note, because said server was set to normal difficulty in the wild, a player I knew wanted to try and convert some villagers and get decreased prices. I helped them make a giant covered area with lots of villagers in minecarts and let zombies loose to convert some, while most died. They were able to get a handful of converted villagers. A big pain vs hard mode which is 100% conversion rate.

Even with witch's redstone drop getting buffed there is a place for this farm, there are other good gifts. We already have the lapis, that would have helped out with cub's pyramid quite a bit. There is also clay, a farm using mud and dripstone would have to be huge to hit these numbers. Tipped arrows are another good option, while you can't specify which one you get you won't have to farm dragon's breath anymore for arrows. Empty maps are maybe the bottom of what this farm specifically is useful for, but who needs that many maps? There are a couple gifts that are still useful, but have better farms, like leather(hoglins), wool(shearing), food(hoglins), but having a multi-purpose farm can be useful, especially if there were some way to swap out and unload the excess villagers.
