Our logistics systems are still based on yesterday’s best practices. Distribution centers and warehouses continue to handle all cases and build mixed-product pallets by hand. And where automation has been introduced, it’s costly, complex and space consuming.
Clearly, we need to reinvent picking and packing. Make them capable of meeting changing customer requirements. It requires efficient and smart systems that can build mixed pallets without also creating extra pallets because of poor stacking. Even at high capacity.

I've seen all kinds of half-baked attempts at automation in a warehouse. There are some really good and broadly-applicable solutions in this video. Very nice. How is this 3 years old now and this is the first time I've seen it? They do need to cut the sections where the pallet has bottles stacked on their sides. That wouldn't fly.

Thinking that this system it’s not viable for a company that has a huge number of pallets per sku for picking. Too much space needed.
