No you are spot on! you would have fun trying to get the timing cover back on doing it that way...
Thanks Frank for the informative video, however what is the purpose of marking the non-timed common rail pump?
Is the engine on the table a hdi out of the 307?
well I would have messed this up cos i would have turned tensioner anticlockwise i think its that way in autodata
Pressed on plastic water pump impellor?
I dont know about the rest of ye, but i would have stuck the timing cover back on before that crank pulley :-)

Why O why do they insist on changing pulleys to plastic, they more often than not fail before the bearing does, seen more belt failures due plastic pulley breaking away from bearing.!! Sigh
