Ending with a drive north on the 405 going to the San Fernando Valley. Takeaway: Cars have good points and bad points just like public transit. But both need to be improved, clean running cars till a replacement for lithium-ion battery's, maybe Solid State battery's and the main thing for public trans needs real bad right now is clean it up and make it safe for families to use. I liked the transition after 2:04, that was a good one. Not sure if it was in the original video or deliberately put together like that, but an early tractor and two horses afterwards was a nice contrast yet still so similar otherwise. Also a lot of construction work at height going on without any apparent safety concerns if a person was to fall down, also throwing things up from the ground. Was that an activity that was formally okay at the time? And if it was caught on film/video today what would the regulatory response be now?

Me living in an city with a 200000 population and two freeways where one is built far outside into the county and the other on the outskirts of the suburban line wondering why everyone complains about traffic? Just build it right the first time. You know in the county instead on the land of the old oversized ave running thru town. You get less people from dying from car accidents in the county and none from asma. Not to mention you never gotta widen the thing.

So then it would never be profitable and it would be ridiculous to have a nationwide system, an inter-state system you could call it, that does not directly produce a profit.

@@street_ruffian How do we pay for it? We don't. Nobody has ever paid for railroads to build up their infrastructure since 1976. All big daddy government has to do is incentivize the railroads to be more competitive to airlines and automobiles out west. Are you crazy? Additionally, plenty of cities exist between NYC and LA, I can name several off the top of my head. Pittsburgh, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, and the list goes on and on... Many of these cities have not seen passenger service in decades, so tell me more about profits when some states don't even have Amtrak all-together.

@@dominator9833 lmao wow swoosh... I'm joking. I will say though I would think the US government would probably have to pay to build a lot of high speed rail infrastructure. Maybe not but I really don't think we should be worried about the cost or how profitable it would be because we need to cut emissions like yesterday. The actual impossibility with it, is really just a problem with the lack of political will to get it done.

What about the rest of the city (general Newark area) and Hudson County which is ALL very dense. People need a good metro to connect them to other stations but there's only buses and a laughable cheap light rail system. NJ and NY are corrupt and too overly bureaucratic. Nothing ever gets done.
