I’ve been having heating problems and replaced two radiators , then discovered that the problem was due to a faulty cap. Replaced the cap and temps are back to normal . The cap looked to function normal but it was really old. Always check the cap folks and replace it regularly ( I would say every 5 years) it is inexpensive but can damage your expensive parts.

Good video.. But mi car isn't does the second jod. Only move the coolant to the bottle and fill on the top. And not comeback the coolant to the radiador.? Do you know why? Thanks

Elnida R it has a bad radiator cap, the pressure regulation spring has failed, but the seal is still good, so replace the cap should fix the problem.

if you can then buy new radiatoe

BUT WHAT if expansion tank is way above maximum line, and radiator starts at full immediately after replacement radiator and fill, but the next day overflow reservoir tank is way above maximum level adn coolant in radiator lowers so cant be seen. So i siphoned off coolant out of overflow tank, then filled radiator to top level again. Went a couple cycles like that. Confuisng. 2008 nissan xterrra, which has a pressurized coolant reservoir overflow cap, non pressurized radiator cap.

Fr, I have a pathfinder and been having problems with overheating, I even change my thermostat and fan clutch, the overheating stoped for months but it came back then I notice the seal of the reservoir cap was cracked so I replaced it and that did it. Later I was washing the reservoir tank and had to move the hose going to the heater hose assembly but the nozzle tip the hose clamps onto snapped so had to buy the whole hose assembly cuz it don’t sell separately anyway I ended snapping that one right off too, so tried to glue it but it’ll still leak a little, really didn’t think it was the cause it would still overheat, so it thought on checking the water pump by the small cover, welp I ended messing up my timing, which I realized after buying a new camshaft position sensor and the car still wouldn’t turn on, well I realized since I was gonna have to open my engine why not do head gaskets, long story short, put my engine back together new head gaskets, cleaned pistons, new water pump seals, new valve stem seals, everything crisp n fresh, but up to today still overheating, everything seems okay, no leaks, no rare sounds, so I hope this cap saves my life again, I’m really so done by Nissan or maybe I’m missing something.😂

But my 2008 Scion xB doesn't have a radiator cap.

Hi im from South Africa I search whole day for a answer. I realy realy realy hope someone can help me. I got a Fiat 128 rally 1974 The radiator cap vacuum part is gone and have no rubber seal on bottom only big top rubber seal. So the water is going freely to the coolant bottel. The cap is open inside. So the water have no pressure and can go freely back and forward without any valve have to open. Now.. can this be the reason my kar overhead after so 10 km or in traffic light it get FAST overheat?
