Very accommodating hygienist! The way she let him touch and feel the tools was super kind! That’s how all dentists should be. The boy sure did a wonderful job! 👍

I also saw his recommendation and approach Dr Oyalo for the herbs on KZread. The herbs has so far work positive on my child’s eye contacts and speech improvement. My child social skill is good now and response to name has improved too
I am a dentist with an autistic teenager. Even coming to my own office, it's not easy for him. Overtime, however, things WILL be better. Please be patient.

He’s such an amazing kid good job at the dentist. Little man
My son still struggles at the dentist. We schedule happy visits in between his appointments. Our pediatric dentist office is amazing with special kids. Bless these kiddos and the health care workers that have the patience to work with them. 🙏
The dentist’s “bite me” tattoo is amazing 😂 Good job though, Alistair!
He did amazing! As an autistic adult I use gas and sunglasses and sometimes even my ear plugs. The dentist can be a sensory nightmare but I’m glad some offices are willing to work with us to makes us more comfortable

Here is a little tip. When I go to the Dentist and the orthodontist I always bring one of my pop it's and it keeps my hands busy.
Allister did such a great job. The dentist was really good too letting him touch and feel everything before it was done. He is such a positive light. Autism or not he's a great kid being himself. Connor is really good with the camera.

Good idea to introduce him to the sensations before it begins
The weight of the vest that they put on you while taking an x ray is really comforting to me. Sometimes if they will let you some people like to ask to keep it on the entire cleaning. Seems to help. I haven't done it personally but I do love the way it feels on my chest!
You are incredibly brave Alistair. Good for you big boy !!!!
Dental has been a terror all my life. I have had very few "gentle, patient, understanding" dentists over the years. My early childhood challenges with oral hygiene have really taken a toll. As an adult, I have paid a heavy price. Finding a Dentist that comprehends how Autism can impact oral hygiene is impossible. Consequently, I have suffered constant abuse by the Dental Community. I have tried to find a Dentist that understands the past Autism influences and is willing to establish a plan to fix everything. It just turns into a huge guilt trip. In my Senior years, I still pay a price that will most likely not end well. Wish the wisdoms, care, and patience Dentists today afford children on the spectrum was shared by Dentist that treat Autistic adults where the damage is done. Guess this is one of those lessons for parents with an Autistic family member to push hard on good dental hygiene and dental care.
He did awesome at the dentist today how is Connor and Ian

Good morning @@AutismFamilyChannel
Wish we had a dentist like this in the uk.
Wow, good dentist! She made him very relaxed. I think daddy was maybe more anxious than the little patient 😉. You could tell she’s very professional. Explaining and letting him feel the tools. And her tone of voice 🤩. The only thing I missed (what our dentist does) is show him a ‘stop-pauze-sign’ to use with his hands. To give him a bit more self empowerment. “Raise your hand above your tummy when you really feel you need a smal break.” But that could maybe make him anxious, to have ‘a choice’. Not all kids are the same. Our son always needs a feeling of consent. It makes him more relaxed.
Thanks for sharing, nice job, Alistiar!
Our son requires anesthesia anytime he needs work done. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to sit through it. He just had some work done a couple weeks ago. Doctor and Dentist visits can be very stressful for both kids and parents. You both did great!
I just been to dentist this morning! He did o well! It’s hard but I’m fortunate to have a very understanding dentist.
Great video , my son Thomas has a real hard time at the dentist. You have some patient loving people we don’t have that here, he’s had so many bad experiences that he’s petrified to go. They have put him under but had a hard time coming out so that’s out of the question.
Your son Alister is doing good so far at the dentist, by the way I missed your last videos but I will go back and watch them. I love how calm he while having his teeth cleaned.😊😊😊
Good work Allistiar! Allistiar did amazing. ❤
It really is amazing especially if you've been with the channel long enough to see how much progress has been made!
Good job Alistair !!! Your parents and brothers are so proud of you! Amazing kid you got there! All your boys are amazing and they touch the hearts of all us followers.
He did it very well :)
When I was six we had to reschedule my appointment to get a cap on my tooth that had a cavity. I kept on peeing my pants and was really nervous, when we finally did it I had to be on multiple medications during the time.. glad to say I've gotten way better and take it like a champ!
What a champ Alistair is! Love that sweet little boy! I'd love to hang out with him, Ian, and Connor!
That is so adorable I love it.❤ good job in Alistair you did amazing!
That hygienist is really patient. Props to her
I'm glad you still have the time to post these videos 😊 thanks for making my day!
A smart and brave boy! Good job buddy!
Nice hygienist. Looks like Alistair had a pleasant experience. Alistair has come a long way in his speech. I remember playing video games at the dentist. Hope you all doing well.

Happy 15th Birthday Ian🚗🚗🚗🚙🚙🚙
I was probably just older than Alistair when I got my braces in (10 or 11 I think), the orthodontist neglected to inform me that there would be a very sour liquid sprayed in to my mouth (I can only assume it was to clean the teeth surface), well, you can imagine the meltdown that occurred. Very lucky that you have such an amazing dentist, wish I did back then 🤣
He did awesome!
Wow. Remarkable series of videos. Well done both parents and kid.
Great job!!! He was amazing
She was amazing with him, we need all professionals healthcare or not to be like this with people with autism or special needs, she is in the right job, & he was so brave! I don't have autism diagnosis, but I have autism tendencies, like I don't like crowds, talking to new people, I don't like certain things, so I'd be freaking out if I was in his place, I'm 16, so he did so well for his age! Just sitting back, relaxing, watching TV.
Sensory overload of dentists never went away for me. Multiple tools and fingers, all different textures and making different sounds and doing different things!!! Latex gloves fingers are the worst. No control. How does anyone cope with that?? Oh and then there’s the shame and embarrassment of not being able to “cope”.

I completely agree. I hate going to the dentist. Most dentists have no patience for anything. And the latex glove fingers are awful! How does anyone get used to it?!
I’m so happy things changed now, when I was little (4-5 yo) I had to get a couple teeth pulled out because they were rotting (I didn’t get enough nutrients and only ate candy, brushing my teeth was also a nightmare) so when I go to my appointments 2-3 people had to pin me down while I was screaming, heck there wasn’t even a tv back in early 2000’s for you to get distracted with :’) I’m 24 now and I act so calm at the dentist even though I feel anxious, then I let it out and cry as soon I get home haha
He did great !! Tnks 4 sharing .
Thank u sooo much for this video!!
Thank you for making these videos! I dream of being a child psychologist and your videos help
I understand I don’t like the dentist either but I’m much older and I’ve had to have a lot of shots and stuff from having seizures and other doctors appointments so but it’s much more scary when you can’t see what they’re doing
Well done, Alistair!! You did great!
Allistair(hopefully I got his name right) did a great job. I’ve been struggling with my son at the dentist. He doesn’t want to jet the dentist look in his mouth. So we got a referral to a special child dentist. Hopefully this will work
Great job 🎉🎉
This dentist is great
He did such a great job. What age did you first take your boys to the dentist? My daughter is 3 and we brush her teeth and tongue 2x a day since she turned 1, but we are so nervous to take her to the dentist. We know it's definitely time for her to experience this. Is it a pediatric dentist?
Great office staff!
Nice
Good job boys!!
Well done
My son is 8 years old. It’s so much struggle to even get him take his medicines. He has severe protein digestion issue. And always constipated. And don’t use words for communication at all. He can read and write but as per 3rd standard. Finding a dentist for him itself it’s big challenge in my area.
sunglasses for the annoying light... or even a sleeping mask if tollerated. for the nois headphones or earplugs. a very patient dentist... explaining every step and if possible a small break in between. when the office itself is to much ask if they call and you can wait outside for you´re turn. At the same time sometimes being longer inside can help you get calmer because the smell gets a little less overwhelming over time. prepare beforehand not at the last minute being like oh yea whe gotta go see the dentist now... if it's a new dentist ask if you can go see the place first so the person at least nows beforehand how it looks and smeels and sometimes sounds... or look at pictures on the internet of that office.
Happy 15th birthday Ian🧁🎉
Last time I was at the dentist was a tooth pulling. I had headphones in while all those tools being put into my mouth & under anesthesia. Then a full day of bleeding making me uncomfortable & light-headed afterwards. Trying to play on my computer with gauze in my mouth. Take care of your teeth, your mouth will thank you.
Thank you for the encouragement! My son is afraid of the dental hook.
Yay Alistair! I’m glad he did great at the dentist. I remember going to the dentist at his age and loved going there for some reason 😅
I’m a big fan
We take my autistic son to the dentist, and he does good for them. They had to do work and put him to sleep, and he was not happy when they woke him, but overall, he does great.
I love going to the dentist even as a kid his age.❤❤❤
I’m trying to figure out what dentist office this is? But I can’t seem to find it online?
I never been to a dentist before and I am autistic because I can’t have dentist and we can’t find a dentist that will help me so what we do for the dentist. I don’t know what it’s going to be like
Allister did pretty good Rob!
I’m 20 years old and I have autism and I do bad at the dentist 😅
Also my autistic kids hate the dentist, even though they work really well with them. any tips?
Hey Mr Owen will Ian be able to drive? I know he loves cars so much. Thank you.

I used to hate the dentist too, i one time was very scared of the dentist that i tried pulling the topl away but now im pretty comfortable with the dentist.
He is like a normal child
Hi, I have a question not related to this video. I would appreciate it if you could answer. my son is autistic, 5 years old. I am really worry about his future. He is diagnosed with mild autism, he can ask his needs (not more words), He smiles and hugs us alot, doesn't have big behaviour issues... My concerns is that; will he be able to understand the world some day? for now, he doesn't know the concepts that other children at his age know:( he is invited to his classmate's birthday party but he doesn't know what is a party! what is a birthday! What is invitation to a party! I can't imagine what the future holds for him! please tell me your knowledge about thar😥
He needs a special care dentist like i go to
Can you please make a video when he get his cavity fixed

I have to go to the dentist for the first time in a couple years because of insurance issues. I'm taking a stuffed animal and possibly a fidget toy, I'm scared.

Quick update; the tooth had to be extracted, which I figured. But they were really nice. They could tell I was afraid because I'm an adult that brought a stuffed dinosaur. But I survived and it's a great time of year for ice cream!
idk why, I have Autism & for some reason, I apparently used to quite like dental visits. Strange. I don't like them as much anymore
I’m autistic and I used to HATE the dentist
You were my food
I have autism and I am an adult and I still don't like going to the dentist . For me it's over stimulating
im tony i have autism too
