I'm scared of water slides, both types for different reasons. Enclosed water slides, because I'm afraid that a very overweight person will go before me and get stuck, and they won't know until I go in and we're both stuck and the slide fills up and we drown. For open top water slides I'm scared of flying out.

The fear of tornadoes is not irrational.

My child has the same fear with his toys in the bathtub. Never even considered that he might have lost one in the past or that’s where his fear could stem from. He’s also afraid of many other things that should not be scary. Needing help with techniques for getting through this

When I was a kid I used to be scared of things that shouldn't be scary too. This lasted from as early in my life as I can remember to my mid teenage years. There were really specific things I was scared of. I used to be scared of certain playground equipment. While I had no issue playing around different playground equipment. At some point I was scared of oval windows or mirrors. I was even scared of cardboard. Specifically flat cardboard. I didn't want to talk about it to anyone. Either because there was no way for me to explain or because I was ashamed of myself. As I grew older i experienced these unusual fears less and less. Now it's been years since I've been scared of anything normal. But what is still scary is that I can't explain what caused this fear.

@@jansen7640 wow. I’m so happy that you were able to overcome and outgrow these fears. I initially made this post about my son, and he still has a few things he’s afraid of.. but my daughter has fears that are very similar to yours.. I was thinking about it today, and I’m wondering if her fears are stemming from things that she’s either dreamt or experienced.. she’s afraid of things like the tv being off in the bedroom.. or being picked up and held by people like our family (that used to be no problem) but now it’s turned into an intense fear and anxiety… or a fear of ants.. it’s not just a little fear either.. all of these fears are like… the most intense fears.. like 15 on a scale from 1-10. I feel bad because I want to help her, but sometimes I struggle with knowing how to make it better
