Mam my son is totally different from all these things i really don’t know whether he’s an autism kid or not yes he kept doing sane things again again with one toy but he understands everything if I say get me some water he will do he do everything what I say but his speech isn’t clear he couldn’t able answer for my questions like if I ask him did u had food he’ll not reply , he writes very well he can recognise all the letters numbers planets but he couldn’t able to make sentences

Hi Mam your video was very helpful. Your last point on difference between mental retardation and autism clarified my biggest doubt. My question here is my daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was around 3 years. Now she is 4.5 and she has shown good improvements on eye contact , communicating with gestures and following basic commands but still she is not verbal. Can she outgrow with autism and end up with DLD?Please clarify.

Hi mam my son 15month old is pointing this when asked for and also poointing things he needs, turns his head when called his name also have eyecontact but not more than few seconds,also mostly looks mouth than eyes apart from that he does some gestures only when he feels like, either early morning or when excited. He has stimming like flapping hands and clapping once in a while he does spin sutting on bump.he also says few words too. Can this be autistic please reply mam.

Hi ma'am, This is Sharon. I have a a son who is 20 months old. He has not started saying amma and appa. He rarely responses to his name. While playing puzzle with him he rarely does eye contact but he has a good eye contact when some unknown person talks to him says something to him. He will smile at them. He plays with children mostly and sometimes he gets irritated when they lift him. He mostly doesnt understand our communication what we say he understands mum Means water appa is dad bye bye means we are going come etc He understands gestures of calling. We are worried. Hello doctor, I am from Sri Lanka. And my kids (twins) were diagnosed with autism and ADHD. Since then we’ve been trying treatments but haven’t got any proper progress. I hope you could suggest any hospitals regarding this, it’ll be a very great help! I apologize if I’m disturbing u in any ways. I think we have been misdiagnosed because each and every doctors we consulted said a different thing. So would you suggest some hospitals based on either autism, ADHD or behavioral disorders. I did a Panel discussion about Stem cell therapy with a Psychiatrist and Gynaecologist whose son is Autistic. Hi my baby is 13 month old, maintains good eye contact, good social smile, love to play with his sister, shakes head for no, responds to name sometimes quickly and sometimes ignores... Hi mam, very nice video. But my child was speaking very nicely suddenly stopped after 2.5 years and also eye contact . Now she is 3.2 and started talking few words, eye contact also improved. She turns and see me whenever I make different sounds, even pointing out the things and asking to give it to her. She started greeting with bye for new comers. Her understanding level is also too good. Daily mrng i will say good morning she will immediately say morning. But not responding for name call. How can we improvise mam.

Hi ma'am! Thank you for your comment. I am glad you found this video useful. Regression is also one of they common signs in Autism. But Autistic or not ! Not responding to name call at 3 years, and speaking very little words is very concerning. So I will recommend you to get a Speech and Language Evaluation as soon as possible and get personalized professional support for child's improvement!

Mitigation means parts ! So echoing just part of the sentences or words is mitigated Echolalia. For example the child might have heard "come on lets go" and might echo just "lets go" ! Mitigation is a very important steps towards producing spontaneous speech ! This might be seen in stage 3 or 4 of GLPs ! 😇

Hi mam, Good info. My kid is 2.8yr old he speaks only in English that too very few sentences. But he can understand if we speak in Tamil and tries to respond only in English. He knows most of the nouns in english , very few verbs alone he aware so he is struggling to make sentences. We were not able to make him to speak in Tamil. Does he need speech Therapy? Whenever we go out He likes to interact with new PPL without any fear saying Hi to them asking them to lift him, In play area he is not sharing any toys with his peer group & tries to grab their toys as well. If we warn him he is shouting a lot. His Tantrum level is very high when we do advice to him. Before leaving out we used to say how to behave he nods his head Nicely & say ok but once we left home we were not able to Control him. Does he need occupational therapy? Note : For the past 1 year he was much addicted to gadegets now we have stopped everything.

Hi ma, Glad you found this video useful. and Thank you for registering your query in detail. 1. whether a child needs Occupational therapy and speech therapy or not can only be decided after a detailed evaluation, so my recommendation will be to do a detailed assessment in both. 2. If the child prefers english more, its ok - You expose him to both the languages, but give more focus on english, as he prefers that. 3. Sentence formation will only get easier if he has lot of verbs in his vocabulary, so focus on improving comprehension and expression of verbs. 4. The tantrums might be because of lack of communication, he is unable to express his thoughts and feelings via speaking so he is doing by screaming and tantrums, as and when his communication improves - his tantrums will reduce. So with the little info I have right now, I can certainly say that speech therapy can help the child very well. Hope this helps
