My child aslo got spectrum autism disorder.but nobody can find out..I make him functional like other kids ..he is studying in normal regualr school .but I did lot of hardwork to bring him up ..and showed visual teaching method to make him understand his lessons than by hearing documentary..so if the child didn't respond their name immediately they should be brought to the socialization as our doctor told .and kept him engaged in activities. they need visual teaching methods...now my kid is fine

To all moms, Even Thomas alva edison is a great scientist who has autism in childhood. His school and teachers rejected him. Even then because of his mother's motivation and dedication, he achieved a lot.. No worries... Your kid will also shine....

Thanks for this wonderful awareness video Doctor. In our country when a child is identified as autism, it is very difficult to accept for their parents, especially to the fathers. Sometimes that causing a delay to start a therapy or further steps that need to be taken at the right time. Definately your video helps here for an awareness to them. In developed countries every thing is systamatic and that helps them to accept the situiation. Moreover it is easy for autism kids / people to live their day-to-day life due to this acceptance on their socity. Here also it is happening, but slowly. Once again thanks a lot for this video..!

I think the dr has mixed up the autism vs Down syndrome. Some of the kids pics shown in this video are Down syndrome kids. It’s totally different from Autism. It’s not a disease, not a mental disability or not something that needs to be cured or treated. I live in USA, where almost every one uses this term a lot. Basically it’s a spectrum. Even a very normal person who can function very well can be said autistic. It’s how there brain is wired. Some kids a low functional autistic who needs occupational therapy (OT) and/or speech therapy (ST), kid like mine doesn’t need anything that sort. He just has social communication concerns, but at 5 even that has gotten better. We have to be careful in understanding Autisim vs ADHD too. Like the Dr mentioned, some kids will be hyper but they are not autistic, they are ADHD. Sometimes they can be diagnosed with both.
