The walking thing I completely resonate with, I absolutely hate walking anywhere without a destination!

That’s great that the diagnosis has finally come in! I hope it helps get things moving with your school. They’ll hopefully realise they’ve been a blocker.

@@SheepdogSays we have a few more test and referrals for speech and langue, and some cognitive learning then will be applying for the echp🤞 I am also autistic parent (women ) I’ve given up with my diagnosis as I feel a diagnosis wouldn’t make a difference for me as I’ve learnt and masked my whole life 😥but the biggest weight has been taken off my shoulders today but completely brain drained 😭

I know the feeling! It is a huge relief but you’ve fought so hard to get to this point. It will help your daughter lots. As for yourself, Self diagnosis is respected in many of the groups I’ve joined for lots of reasons including that in many parts of the world , including parts of the UK, it is nigh on impossible to get a diagnosis easily and support is a bit thin. I understand you have a lot more bits to look at with your daughter, try not to burn yourself out while you sort it. When you tell school about the diagnosis encourage them to kick off the EHCP. I suddenly thought earlier today - they may be holding back because it can affect their budgeting plans in weird ways (I can explain how I’d you’re interested). It does take a while to sort and it makes a big difference. Also - I waited 5/6 months to apply for disability living allowance which basically meant we wasted 5-6 months of potential payments. As soon as you have the energy to do so, get an application form as this can get you a monthly payment to spend on supporting your daughter. If you need help with it message me. A lot of parents miss the mobility part which autistic children qualify for.
