I listened to this video whilst driving to work last week and there were genuine tears streaming down my face. I wanted to reach out to talk to you in that moment, I wanted to tell you that you were Seen. I See you so clearly and I can intrinsically relate to a lot of what you said. My story runs parallel but with differing details. But boy did I feel you, and I promise you that your videos are helping me. I feel Seen. So thank you. I wish we lived closer because I really feel we could be good friends. ❤

I can so vividly remember my mom beating me before school when I was in elementary and then showing up after a bit of time passed and she would have a little gift for me and maybe a pack of gum. Every time it was the same thing. I am sorry, If you wouldn't talk back and make me upset. Or if you would wake up on time and not fight me when it is time to get up.

This is truly heartbreaking 💔 😢 i can never understand how someone can hurt their own child or any child. Just pure evil people. i grew up in a domestic violent home, which effected me greatly. I ended up going off the rails as a teenager. Luckily i turned my life around & now have a beautiful life with my husband of 22 years & 3 fur babies ❤

Hiiii Amanda , I'm terribly sorry hearing that you had a tough and stressful childhood due to an abusive parent . This is so heartbreaking that an innocent child was being abused for years and years . Just know that you are loved , you are beautiful and gifted, you are unique and funny . Thank u for time and effort you put in your content to bring awareness, to bring calmness and comfort to those who need it.

Hi Amanda. Did you ever consider your mum may have also been autistic or have another condition such as adhd? Of course this doesn't excuse what she did, but we all know autism runs in families and understanding my parents who were also abusive(mostly emotional but also got a lot of smacks for no reason and objects thrown at me) personally is helping me be more at peace with it. Controlling behaviour, aggression and impulse control can be an issue in both autism and ADHD. I see a lot of this in my family members now and finally understand why both my parents but my mum especially was so bitter at the world. She felt unloved by her mother, got bullied in school for being quiet and was an extremely anxious paranoid adult, she picked her hands to bits and cared a lot about how we behaved in public. It was too stressful to have my parents in my life particularly when I had children of my own- that was the final straw. My husband who was also suspected to be on the spectrum as a child had a wonderfully calm upbringing by comparison due to his mother reading a great deal and breaking that cycle. He has grown up into a very(sometimes overly) relaxed person. I found becoming a parent quite healing as I am able to figure out how to parent my children in a better way, a way I wish I had been parented. Best of luck for the future ❤

So sorry for your trauma. My mother would drag me to a wall and bang my head against it repeatedly. She would tell me I wasn't worth hurting her hands on me, hence the wall treatment. No apologies though. She never did anything wrong. It was all my fault. Sorry for spilling, you opened that old can of worms. But thanks for your candour. 💚
