Many will agree that Trevor Noah is among the most intelligent people we've met on TV. Thank you, Trevor, for all your extraordinary insights!

Probably the best along with Jon Stewart. But he experienced in life.
Situational awareness and emotional intelligence are important components in authenticity.
I have a similar philosophy. My comfort should not be my neighbor's discomfort.
It starts as a cliché question. And Somehow Trevor manage to elevate the question into a golden life lesson moment brilliantly. Hope he comes back to the talk show business after his us tour. We need more from this guy.
"Save your authentic self for situations that deserves it"! This hits home!.
I love Trevor! He is so good at saying the sh*t we think everyday but don't know how to communicate to others!

Duuuude 🎉
Trevor Noah just somehow knows the postive things to say and in that moment. Somehow it is a gift for him. He picks a subject and somehow he trys to give some good advice. He did that on the Daily Show. That is one of the many reasons people like his show.
Trevor Noah is absolutely brilliant 🔥🔥🔥

actually is smart....no more no less....be authentic dude ! Relax.
I agree with the context. Total authenticity is bad - it’s devoid of responsibility
Such a wise young man. Truly an old soul that came to bring some sense to this planet...❤
I love Trevor❤
Talented brother. God bless you Trevor Noah.
Trevor is very wise
I always learn so much from this brilliant man every time I watch him, he's so insightful!
So true! Authenticity should be based on context and should not inflict third party harm/nuisance
Probably one of the best insights there is. Context, culture and people matters. Respect is key
Explained that brilliantly 👏
Watching a TN interview is always educational
He’s 100% correct!!!
Trevor always makes sense!
I love TREVOR NOAH he's so brilliant & deep he really knows how to break it down & peel all the layers back & really give good context that you can understand! AWARENESS is ESSENTIAL👍🏽
This is what the pastor was talking about last Sunday. He was talking about 'being yourself' & how you need to pick parts of yourself for different spaces etc
Very honest
Love Trevor - philosophical, wise, warm, empathetic, - GENIOUS!!
I . NEED . MORE
This is super insightful
Same here about people in the office.
He is a beautiful man bless this great young man.
Real definition of emotional intelligence.
❤❤❤ beautifully explained
So well and beautifully shared! I think this talk should be part of the School of Life curriculum ✨

Trevor Noah best comedian ever 👍🏽
Trevor is so smart on EVERY level !!
Trevor is a human being who will be anything but himself! He was brought by a mother who gave him the tools to live well with integrity in this world. He talks all golden words. Wisdom, compassionate, eloquent and he always brings the best understanding in everyone he meets. Absolute genius. He is a leader not a follower. Blessings Trevor.

Love Trever, he is so intelligent and an excellent public relations person to name just one of many many talents he has!
This man is just brilliant. This is something i’ve been struggling since I was a kid, frequently I felt fake when I’m with others. But Trevor explain it in the most understanding way
how can you hate this guy
Always know your audience and be authentic to your environment always 😊
Yay, Trevor, we cannot say everything we are thinking about all times. I say that all the time. Just remember just like you don’t care what I think I might not care what you are thinking 🧐
Great interviewer! Great guest! Just one introductory question answered in almost six minutes in the form of a conversational lecture.
👍👍👍
What a brilliant man
She was really enjoyed him.. I like how she let him speak n didn't try to add unnecessarily
Human kindness is different then being authentic. Seriously not everyone wants to hear you authentically cry when you feel sad. You really always have to pick a choose who you can be real with
❤❤Love this answer from Trevor! You can't be your authentic self just any way the context matters. Thanks for the question and love the answer.God bless you all !
Interdependence, we are social beings so we always have to be careful about others. It can also be called being mindful and compassionate, Which means respecting others happiness as yours.
As I always say, my freedom ends where yours begins. Respect others even if they don't you, don't worry be happy 😅😊.
This is one of the most inteligente young man 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Damn man this was 10000%
Well said in perspective to see this topic from...
So true! That’s me! I tend to be aware of my surrounding and respect their rights as well as mine.
It is called manners and or etiquette
Yep. Just because I have an input, an opinion and something to say, doesn't mean it deserves a platform at every moment. That doesn't mean I'm not being authentic. Authentic me is the me who cares about if what I can say needs to be heard.
As someone on the spectrum but high functioning enough to mask, I've spent my entire childhood figuring this out.
A round of applause❤
Wow! Love this guy's thinking and comedy skills!!
Exactly.
Brilliant
Save your authentic self for the situation that deserves it.
I think this authenticity in simple term is fitting the community,... My English teacher taught me this in primary school ❤
😊❤
Trevor is such a wise individual.....God bless him!!!
What a great explanation for the question...
Me and my friend were literary having this conversion today
You can't always be yourself as long as you live in a society, be yourself in a manner which is constructive, you can adjust your values and ideas a bit to accommodate others with different values and ideas without completely shutting them down💯
What great insight.
Well explained Trevor❣️
YES!!!💯 Trevor! This hit the spot👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
LOVE driving backward 😃sometimes whole streets and making turns left and right too
How much I love Trevor ? A little too much cz he alwz makes sense
Wow! Never heard this. Authenticity is related to different situations. Beautiful
Trevor has educated most Americans
Yeah, we’re still figuring this stuff out. #CEPV #IMustWin
God I'd missed listening to him.
He is intelligent and funny
Very, very true! There are too many people out there who confuse selfish, disrespectful, or just ignorant behavior with authenticity. They forget, as Trevor says, that there are many layers of any person's "self", all of which are "authentic", but the decision which one to show to the outside world depends on the situation and how close other persons present are to you (not physically, I mean in terms of friendship or family relationships or cultural proximity).
"Mind your surroundings...", that's what Ra's al Ghul teach Bruce Wayne.
💜💛
He’s realistic
It's because of him I want the US to get rid of rule about natural born citizen for president and then idk trick him into running because I don't think he'd willingly do it and we wouldn't deserve him but we need him lmfao he's so thoughtful and intelligent I love the way he explains things
❤️ to Trevor From DBN 🏖️
Maybe it's up to ones understanding of what authentic is. Me acknowledging your existence is still me being authentic or me being professional is still me unless I am not doing it in a comfortable way or trying to unnecessarily fit in. If I start being careless in the name of authentic then that is not authentic it is selfishness and plain stupidity 😢😢
I am not sure his definition of authentic is the same as those who promote always being your authentic self at all times.
Some people dont know me there is a difference between observing someone or knowing someone or feeling what they feel and are going trough 🙍🏻♀️........ but i still want to give you this here for you a flower 🌺and a flower to for everyone else 🌺who tries to understand or know someone with the intention to help God Bless you Forever Jesus Loves you 🗺️.
Well said 😂
He didn’t really answer the question of “How to stay true to yourself, and stay on your path” He just got stuck on the word “authentic” and went on a hilarious rant about it 😂😅 100% accurate, but that wasn’t the question lol

Depending on what answer you were expecting to hear, might be the reason you didn't find he's explanation satisfying. Being true to oneself is a holistic endeavor, Trevor gave an elementary answer based on a question about being authentic & being consistent. He pretty much said being true to who you are should be contextually based on your surroundings by having emotional intelligence & reading the room, he over-explained it a bit but gave a solid answer!

Sometimes when asked a question, the question itself is flawed and needs as in this case a bit of tweaking to fit the person it is being asked of. Question asking, or interviewing is a true art in itself. Very few people seem to know how to ask a truly good question. Trevor is a master communicator and tweaked it to fit what he felt was the core of what was being asked. In any case, & for what it's worth, This is what I heard. (IMO most people neither know themselves, which comes before knowing how to stay true to that, or a path.
She is BEAU-TI-FUL!😍
You should have enough IQ to know the context...😂 love it! Wisdom
Why do I get a Dicaprio vibe?
Don't *off at home either. Worst place for that. Good to save your best for those you want to share love with.
Common sense clearly isn't that common if what Trevor is saying is ground breaking 😂
Where can we watch the whole thing?
There can only be authenticity once the process of removing of what's not has started... Not before. Spontaneity in expressing of urges and feelings (good or bad) is not an example of authenticity, that s just being reactive ..
It use to be taught that, you have the right to free speech, but that freedom only extends to the point you invades someone else space.

How does the interviewer know he’s authentic? Just because you see someone on TV, doesn’t mean you know the real them or if/when they’re being authentic.

That’s a great question. I don't know the answer, but I found the keynote was insightful. Trevor Noah says that authenticity is context based, and he makes the suggestion to “Save your authentic self for the situations that deserve it”.
