Thanks for another great video showing wonderful Somali cuisine! For 15 years I ate at so many Somali places in London and loved all of them - not just the delicious food but the warm and friendly welcome. I wish there were some Somali eateries here in Hastings, East Sussex!!

Iam glad u enjoying somali food specially u tried my 3 favorite 1 Sambusa and 2)mandazi bur and the 3)mashmash I haven’t had somali food for very long time bcs i moved to asia But it reminds me how i use to fold the bur and sambusa together then eat or dip with hot milky tea 18:25 Its jerky or dried camel or goat or lamb meat then deep fried some people mix it with ghee and it can lasts for months it’s special dish for nomadic somalis families they restore with big jar if it and eat in the morning But it looks the one thy gave u was just the dried meat with no ghee. With anjera it wouldbe better when u add with ghee or olive oil and then little honey and roll the anjera dip or sip tea with it

Oodkac the small raising looking driee meat on top of the Canjeero is for nourishing the sick, wounded or travelling etc. If you're in hospital you'll get it & it will nourish you as it has what you need to reenergise you.

But it was so testy ,if you chew more, getting more tasty and delicious. Now I know next time I will ask for clarified butter or ghee Thanks for your help 👍🏼 🙂

@@jahantraveller8017 yes the meat is sun dried then fried in subag and then preserved with same subag. Nowadays as a shortcut to sun drying they just cook it down before frying. It is not eaten dry at all. Maybe they forgot.
