This was such a special treat to see Nonno in his element doing something that he was taught by his elders so many years ago. Something very beautiful about the process of making wine in the old fashioned diy way. Thanks so much for sharing this and all of the wonderful, fascinating content your channel puts out. I can't get enough of Nonno, Nonna and their beautiful family ❤ Im so grateful to all of the amazing Italian Canadians who chose to call this part of the world home. The amount of culture they brought here is incredible.

I love Nonno. I think it’s so amazing that you’re documenting it all so you can pass it on to your family and ours. My dad‘s been gone for decades and I wish I had a video of him making his meatballs and homemade sauce. 😢 but I have your spicy Nonna in the amazing Nonno! Thank you so much for that. Girl with dogs two keep promoting them otherwise I never would’ve found your grandparents

My Nonno and Nonna on both sides immigrated to Toronto in the 50s as well. My parents along with them. What a beautiful video. My dad used to make wine with my Nonno and I’ll never forget the smell! If the wine was not the best, my Nonno would put some ginger ale in it to cut the acid and let us try. At 34 I still do this if I don’t like a particular wine 😂Keep making these beautiful memories with them, you’ll never forget 🥹

I’m not Italian and my family came to the US several generations ago, but I was fortunate to grow up in a small town with many Italian families. Some of my friends had grandparents who spoke only Italian. I’ve always wished I was first generation, because the Italian family ties are so strong. You are so lucky to have your Italian grandparents, who share their rich culture with you, but you already know that… Thank you for sharing them with all of us. I just found your channel and I subscribed immediately. I’m going to binge watch now and drift off into theirs and your beautiful world. ❤

My husband was borned in a little village called Montemilone ( Basilicata ) and he used to pick grapes 🍇 with his Nonno Rocco and transport them in baskets on a donkey to the cantina. Luigi and his cousin Ernesto did press the wine by using their feet too. It's a good childhood memory who my husband really treasures to this day. Thank you for giving us this special treat it really warms our hearts to see this done! Greetings to you all from me, Susanne and Luigi in Sweden 👋❤🍷salute 😉👍🇸🇪.

Maybe you could do a "Shopping with Nonno/Nonna" video, if they have local Italian stores they like to shop at to get authentic products? It would be interesting to see what bakeries and delis they shop at for anything they don't grow or make themselves. Include any visit to a social club or church group too if that's something they do.

My landlord when I lived in California used to make his own wine, I loved it because no added sulfates equals no hangover! He was from Northern Spain in the Basque region, and he would buy the grape juice, so no need to crush or press. It's really interesting to see how the process looks from grape to resting/fermenting. I know that Nonno is making a fantastic dry wine, see you next year Christmas for the reveal!🍇🍷
