This was such a special treat to see Nonno in his element doing something that he was taught by his elders so many years ago. Something very beautiful about the process of making wine in the old fashioned diy way. Thanks so much for sharing this and all of the wonderful, fascinating content your channel puts out. I can't get enough of Nonno, Nonna and their beautiful family ❤ Im so grateful to all of the amazing Italian Canadians who chose to call this part of the world home. The amount of culture they brought here is incredible.

What an experience for you!! Nonno is a true treasure! This video was fascinating!! Thank you for sharing. I love this channel!❤
It doesn’t get better than that! Nonno teaching his grandson to carry on the tradition and art of wine making. Wonderful!!
I love Nonno. I think it’s so amazing that you’re documenting it all so you can pass it on to your family and ours. My dad‘s been gone for decades and I wish I had a video of him making his meatballs and homemade sauce. 😢 but I have your spicy Nonna in the amazing Nonno! Thank you so much for that. Girl with dogs two keep promoting them otherwise I never would’ve found your grandparents
Your Nonno is such a great teacher! I could watch him all day ❤

I truly enjoy watching these videos so much! His energy and drive to do things homemade is amazing! He is such an interesting person. It just makes your soul feel a little better to know there are still good people out there. Also, everyone loves a silver fox 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this window into history! It was fascinating and Nonno seems to love sharing his knowledge, which is the hallmark of the best teachers. I appreciate the work you all put in to filming and editing for us!

My grandfather used to make wine. It was the best tasting wine I have ever had! Thank you for sharing this. ❤
I am so proud of Nonno. He is a very smart, hard-working man and a good example to follow . I love Nonna and Nonno so much that I am talking about them to my husband and children so much. Any chance I have. I follow Nonnas recipes and have fun watching them cooking, talking about their experience in life and whenever they fight 😊.
My Nonno and Nonna on both sides immigrated to Toronto in the 50s as well. My parents along with them. What a beautiful video. My dad used to make wine with my Nonno and I’ll never forget the smell! If the wine was not the best, my Nonno would put some ginger ale in it to cut the acid and let us try. At 34 I still do this if I don’t like a particular wine 😂Keep making these beautiful memories with them, you’ll never forget 🥹
Is there nothing your nonno can't do. Your grandparents are so self-reliant. Bravo. They are great example for people. Bravo !
I'm taking the WSET Level 3 certificate in wine right now and I shared this with my class - it's super informative for people that are learning about the winemaking process and it's always a treat to get a little Julio time 😍 Thanks for sharing 🥂
What an amazing video! Thank you and Nonno for sharing the old way!

Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
I’m not Italian and my family came to the US several generations ago, but I was fortunate to grow up in a small town with many Italian families. Some of my friends had grandparents who spoke only Italian. I’ve always wished I was first generation, because the Italian family ties are so strong. You are so lucky to have your Italian grandparents, who share their rich culture with you, but you already know that… Thank you for sharing them with all of us. I just found your channel and I subscribed immediately. I’m going to binge watch now and drift off into theirs and your beautiful world. ❤

God bless the old timers! I am Portuguese and I remember making wine with my father back in the day! Both channels are awesome. Much much love from Connecticut!
Such a wonderful treat to let us go through this with you and Nonno. Thanks for sharing.
My husband was borned in a little village called Montemilone ( Basilicata ) and he used to pick grapes 🍇 with his Nonno Rocco and transport them in baskets on a donkey to the cantina. Luigi and his cousin Ernesto did press the wine by using their feet too. It's a good childhood memory who my husband really treasures to this day. Thank you for giving us this special treat it really warms our hearts to see this done! Greetings to you all from me, Susanne and Luigi in Sweden 👋❤🍷salute 😉👍🇸🇪.
This was so interesting! That press with the added layers is a lesson in mechanics. I really appreciated Nonno's explanations. I hope this will be an outstanding vintage for you, Nonno!
Grandpa made wine just like that. Wooden barrel - Boots and all. The best. All the hard work made you appreciate the delicious wine even more. Love this video. Sherry 🥰💞🙏🍇🍷
This is so amazing. Nonno making wine and giving us a history lesson on how it is made. So many steps and yet he is resilient at this age to give us the entire process. This is absolutely priceless. Nonno is a treasure.❤
Great video! Had to go back and watch the 'I love Lucy' episode where she crushed grapes!👍😂 Nonno was clearly in his element and having a great day with is grand kids!
wow affascinante ! grazie Nonno e grazie al nipotino pure... con saluti da Palermo! 💚🤍❤
7:55 "this may be the last time I do" Ugh, I hate that! I have a feeling that he's been saying that for the last 10 times he's made wine though lol i'm glad that your family will always have these videos of your Nonno & Nonna. I can tell that both of them are so special ❤ god bless your beautiful family.
I love wine, and though I've been on many winery tours I felt like I learned more from Nono's explanation. This was beautifully done Julian. Thanks for letting me borrow your grandparents today, it was needed 💜
Brings back great memories from when my father made wine!!! We used half Zinfandel and half Moscatel Branco. My dad would make the best Red Wine in our Community. Best Wishes!
I love Nonno!!! I miss my grandpa so much, watching this made me cry! Please give him a hug for me, and let him know he he beloved by his internet grandkids 😂❤
New fan and subscriber here! 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve binge watched your videos 3 days now. Your Nonno and Nonna brought back so many memories from home and own childhood. I’m from Croatia, Adriatic is between us … but culture is 80% same

This was an amazing video. I sure wish I had that press, big jars and such. I have made wine many times but on a smaller scale but this looks so fun.
Am a Muslim I don’t drink and we don’t have this kind of culture but I really enjoyed watching this and now am craving grapes so bad 😅 .. Kudos to nonno wish u health u and nonna
Wonderful old traditions
What a nice video and so informative!! My friend drank a lot of wine one night in Rome and had no headache the next day. She attributed it to NO Sulfites in the Roman wine which is produced for local consumption, just like Nonno's.🥰
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!
Maybe you could do a "Shopping with Nonno/Nonna" video, if they have local Italian stores they like to shop at to get authentic products? It would be interesting to see what bakeries and delis they shop at for anything they don't grow or make themselves. Include any visit to a social club or church group too if that's something they do.
Hats off to the new generation that took time to learn what his grandfather did when he was young. Even the machine that was used in the olden days is much better than what we now use. Great grandpa and grandson at work. God bless you’ll.

My new fave channel !! Awesome 👏
Oh I remember the smell of the grapes fermenting in the garage. Brings back some great memories! Thank you Julian.❤️❤️❤️
I love that he is teaching you the old ways!
Thank you for taking the time to share this time honored tradition with us. It was a joy to watch this process. Nice reminder of all the necessary steps that must be followed once the grapes come off the vine. A good reminder of how spoiled we are to just grab a bottle from the shelf. As an aside: women find prematurely gray headed men sexy.....
Now all I want to do is order some wine grapes and make wine. And how could you even ask Nonno, 'Did you make this?' when you talked about the switch... I know he said he bought the grape crusher, but I'd bet he's repaired it numerous times, so even that he could say he made. Such a wonderful family. Thank you so much for sharing these moments.
Awesome. Your Nonno, his voice and mannerisms remind me so much of mine. Enjoy him!
Don’t know how I came across your channel but I love it! Your Nonna and Nonno are adorable ❤! Both my parents were born and raised in Italy and came to Canada 🇨🇦 when they were 20 and I remember all these things growing up, I love seeing your videos of all the things they cook and do. Keep up the great videos, I love watching them ❤

I am so proud of you nono stay healthy. I will see you next time on your vlog❤ watching from Canada
Thanks Nonna for the video! Give us more.
UNBELIEVABLE how awesome!! Vino for a year!!! Amazing I pray I get to make it some day!!!!!
My heart just burst open and took me back 30 years-except it was my Sicillian Dad making wine in Western Australia-don't ever forget these times!
I loved watching this! My husband's grandma's family has vineyards in Calabria along the coast. He never learned the art of winemaking so this was fascinating! I can't wait to share this with him
My landlord when I lived in California used to make his own wine, I loved it because no added sulfates equals no hangover! He was from Northern Spain in the Basque region, and he would buy the grape juice, so no need to crush or press. It's really interesting to see how the process looks from grape to resting/fermenting. I know that Nonno is making a fantastic dry wine, see you next year Christmas for the reveal!🍇🍷
I wish I was Italian and had a family like this !!!!❤
I can smell it through the screen!!! Mmmmm
This was a right of passage for me as a child and sooooo much fun.
Learn as much as you can, they don't make them like this anymore :) Brilliant man.
Hi Nonno, and Julian, fascinating process of how to make wine, I never saw how good wine was made,so thank you so much for sharing this process with us. Love Katherine xoxo
I'm southern italian I got gray really early too it's the nature of the Beast
I loved this video. ❤
Intricate process. thats a lot of hard work. savor every drop of that wine 😊🌷
Great Video!! Greetings from Austria ❤
Wow, you learning wine making history from your Nonna
The Dryer the Better !!!!!!! YUM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved watching this! Fascinating process although I wouldn’t wait 5 days because the sweeter the better for me with wine. Thank you for showing the old and new ways to crush the grapes. 👌💕
Love your Nonno!
This truly is a gift!
Che bello vedere questi antichi procedimenti!! Mi ricorda la mia infanzia!!💗🔥
I really love watching people do things the old way, the way their fathers taught them. The wine that is made is probably better than any store wine, and they made it without all the dodads that people use today. Awesome video thanks for sharing your experience with us
