I use this Autel Scanner to demonstrate how to find a misfiring cylinder using the injector stop service function of the Autel AP200. How to drop cylinders with a scan tool or how to deactivate engine cylinders to find a misfire is an alternative to a proper car engine power balance test. Is your car engine running rough, or are you looking at finding faulty injectors, or are you just battling a P0300 misfire? You may find this video helpful. This service function is akin to the control cylinder fuel cut active test. How to find a misfiring cylinder with a scan tool, or how to drop engine cylinders to find a misfire, is an essential troubleshooting technique for those situations where it is not clear which cylinder is misfiring. Does'nt it require add-ons to do such tests ??? My ML 629 costs a lot more and cannot do such tests ! I will return mine and get the AP200 then ! I SUSPECT YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THE TEST ON YOUR PHONE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A PAID ACCOUNT for your high-end Autel devices ? Someone like me would not be able to do such tests.

No single add-on required. Once you purchase and register the device, you should pick one manufacturer e.g., Toyota, to which you will have lifetime updates and access to their cars (for all the functions the device supports). This tool is not linked to the bigger tool in any way.
