Boat mode mostly just decreases the IMU sensitivity, allowing the drone to arm when there is movement, e.g., the rocking motion of the boat. The warning explains that home point will still be the place where the drone took off, so if your boat is moving it will not come back to the boat in RTH, it will go back to the point where it took off, which now is open water. Also, if the boat is moving when you lift off, the drone will not stay in place over the boat, it will stay in place where it took off. So if you launch from the bow of a moving boat the boat will drive into the drone. If you launch from the aft of a moving boat, the drone will appear to drift away off the back of the boat. Best to launch from the aft area. This is same for DJI and Autel drones.

@@matthewsequoyah2665 I think the biggest use for boat mode is the ability to arm while the drone is moving a bit. For landing there's no need. Some recommend turning off boat mode once in the air.

Great video ! Very informative for anyone just getting their EVO II. I wish you had this when I got mine, would have saved me some trial and error. Trying to figure he’s video mode for just the novice right now so the more you get plain about video settings the better that will be as well. Not looking for money making quality just entertainment.

@@MyDroneChronicles maybe someday if your out flying a cool spot for a while I could stop out sometime and meet up. I would love to talk about the evo 2 and it abilities. I am very interested in getting my part 107 and doing aerial photography for real estate or other entry level drone piloting jobs. The last 6 years before covid I ran a burn table and water jet cutting tables and was part of the united steelworkers union. I cant seem to find anything that pays what I was making in that field so I want to change to doing something I love and that pays fairly well for my time. Hope all is well. Happy flying brother and hopefully talk one day soon

Great video! So informative. I am researching purchasing this drone and have been very impressed with footage I've seen. My only doubt regards the smoothness of the drone/gimbal operating compared to Mavics. To the people who have had issues I wonder if they really understand and have gone thru the settings?

Good tutorial. Question I did not see any options for live streaming on facebook or KZread. Can you do live videos with this drone?

I'm an 80-year-old great-grandpa that never flew anything more complicated than a kite until recently. When my kids saw how interested I was in their children's drones they went together and bought me an EVO 2 8K. Now I'm trying to play "Catch-up" with the little "crumb snatchers". That has led me to watch hundreds of hours of videos and spend hours reading the Explorer and Operator's Manuals(4 times). Your video helped a great deal but I have one question that no one has addressed. Several places in the Explorer App Manual, they refer to the "Learning Center" in the AutelExplorer App. What is it, where is it and how do you access it? Like I said, this is all new so (if you take the time to reply) please keep your answers simple. I'm confused enough already

Nice job, here we are March 2024 and I have bought the EVO II Pro V3... I have looked in a lot of places for info and have not found the quality of information you have shared here. Thank you Note: I have been flying drones since May 2018 and have had 11 models of DJI product. Autel could do so much better. Your information will allow me to give this drone a better chance of staying in my fleet.

The EVO 2 is certainly a different 'flavor' from DJI drones, but it's a VERY capable and impressive UAS.(unmanned aerial system). The 6k camera is awesome and the orange color really helps with visually tracking it. I love mine ! ! There's a lot to it so take your time really getting to know it. Be cautious and have FUN.

It’s hard to say with these things.

You missed the attitude indicator, top right corner of the little map you'll see a little crosshair looking icon, tap on that and the map gets replaced with the attitude indicator.

Good information, thanks for going through all of that. Just a note to anyone trying to check out the HDR, I could only get it to work in "JPEG Only" and at the smallest file size, otherwise the HDR Icon is just not on the screen. Im guessing this is intentional and it kind of makes sense, since the settings are basically nuetral in Raw, it wouldnt be conducive to HDR

I just purchased a autel evo 2 v2 with the regular control. Can you please tell me how to turn the auxiliary bottom light on? There is no options for it like seem in your video thanks

I have the SE controller and don't have a "weather" information in the Home Screen. I also don't see anywhere I can turn that on. Any thoughts to help with this. Thanks!

Excellent overview of the app. It would be great if you could describe in more detail the various flight and mission modes like, what the heck is Tripod Track or Boat Mode for example. Gesture Control, Smart Orbit and Dual Stability. And what does “Time to Discharge” do?

Lipo batteries can be damaged by holding a full charge too long. You can set them to self discharge after a certain amount of days to avoid this usually 6 to 10 days. They heat up and lose about half their charge at the set time

There are options for it in the settings. If it's set to auto it will come on at night by itself.

Do get geo tagging in the photos are videos ?

Did you do a new video on the few menu changes after the latest updates? Like exp settings include changing the way the craft flies all the way around. I would like to tweak these settings but havent touched them due to being affraid i will mess something up.. i know you can go back to default but flying it after changing settings is scary..Just wondered thats all. Hope all is well over your way. Was gonna fly the evo 2 here today in Greensburg but kept wondering if it was gonna rain or not. So, I aired on the side of caution and stayed grounded. I will probably fly a battery or 2 after dinner. Anyway, happy and safe flying. Thanks for the informative videos

There is no boat mode on our RC controller for the autel evo II pro.. Did they do away with it?

Boat mode is just that, being on a boat. Evo2 will hover and remain static. You will need to change your home point to ME and update as you move around.

*Open camera view *Click on camera settings (camera icon with sliders) in the bottom right corner. Scroll to "Save Location" Select "SD card" for removable storage or "flash drive" for fixed internal storage.

What's the flight time?

Ok lads, is anyone knows how can I restore my accidentally deleted flight logs back or can I get them from Autel manufacturer if I wasn't registered before missing of flight logs? Is it possible now?

I think boat mode allows you to hand launch..

no, it is for being on a boat, so it will hover and not land in the water. You will need to change home point to Me and keep updating

How are you scrolling? Touch screen? Mine only seems to access part of the menu. What the heck am I doing wrong???

Yes, touch screen when you are in the settings and when you are looking ate the iso or resolution stuff at the bottom of the screen you can use the right scroll wheel also.

What was the hidden menu, I found them all straight forward ... Also to show people where to delete the Flight logs but I'm not to notify people that deleting flight logs will void their warranty is not cool.

Also wish Autel Robotics (AR) would publish a better user manual. The one they have is old and poor. No real detail. They need to update it!

Proves my point that the user's manual does not even explain what the "Boat Mode" is and how it works. Vastly disappointed with Autel Robotics!
