When I was a kid I reached down in my bed one night and felt something weird... no, it was actually one of these beetles. And it gave me the shock of my life, not simply because I hadn't expected to find it there, but also because the darned thing started hissing at me. I'd never been hissed at by a beetle before - or since - until the other day when I found this one, this time walking across my carpet. As you'll see, when I touch it, it really does hiss (albeit in a much cuter manner than I recalled as a small child). I think it's a rhinoceros beetle, and those antennae that look like antlers are very impressive indeed!
