@@robbieaussievic the brutal lack of observance is what terrifies me. Im lucky enough to of never been in any form of crash/altercation. . . But the amount ive seen over the years, ALWAYS the same stereotypes (P-plater in a commodore, cute ditzy bitch on her phone in a swift/I30/mazda3, mum with a 4X4). Always for the same reasons. On phone, straight through a red light, ignoring your right at a roundabout, overtake lanes on our cross country highways. . . Oh, and one very specific bunnings entrance near where i live. It just boggles my mind that most of these people just arent aware theyre driving a half-ton bullet with only 4 small points of contact with a road. . . Are you just not aware that a car is a weapon? That it, like gun ownership, needs to be done with the utmost care and respect in order for it to work in the hands of civilians. So far, i gotta say, middle aged tradies and truckies seem to be the safest drivers. The only people ive ever known to take defensive driving lessons. Drive regularly that the vehicle becomes and extension of the driver. Respect for the road via experience. And i have respect for THAT.

On the other hand, if they're hooning somewhere that they can't hurt others then I'd feel pretty bad for them if they ended up dead or disabled from a crash. Lot of people are pretty reckless when they're young and balance out as they age- would hate to see some kid ruin his life for making one stupid decision to try and drift his car around a bend, end up wrapping it around a tree and becoming a paraplegic for the rest of his life.
