You are fibbing. All in one day - wow! Great commentary. I have 100 acres zoned E2 near Cessnock. So many birds. We are the very top block of the Bow Wow Creek catchment (our dogs thought it was hilarious). We have nine gullies/creek heads. Us and the tract below (circa another 20-30 blocks along the creek) are listed on the National Trust and State Heritage Register. Large Permian fossils a few blocks down. There are endangered species, and Environment NSW released 20 endangered Regent Honey Eaters last year but sadly 14 of the monitors have gone silent. They suspect Owls. I want to get to know the birds and their calls. I have a Nikon 400mm zoom and hope to nab some good shots. I have some head and shoulders shots of Eastern Yellow Robins. Thanks again. Just a rant about introduced birds. Very nice video, no complaints. Love the information provided too, thank you! :) Ugh people seem completely unable to take care of any wildlife and prevent stupid tragedies involving birds. I don't mean to criticize the actual birds, what they do is natural, but the fact that they were actually introduced just makes the entire situation peoples' fault, and no-one cares or notices. Even if people do care, their methods of dealing with these difficulties is absolutely disgusting. Poisoning and mistaking some birds for others and killing them off 'accidentally' is not forgivable. But of course there aren't many that hold up wildlife and birds as an actually important subject. It's way below the stupid fashion scandals or celebrity drama on people's lists of priorities. Of course I don't speak for everyone, but even an idiot could see the obvious bias towards more superfluous and unimportant issues in life.

Dig out a big dished area on the ground with a flat bottom. Line it with black garden plastic. Mix cement in a wheelbarrow, pour it in. Spread it out with your hands until about 8 cm thick. (you can reinforce it with a piece of chicken wire pressed into the mix until not seen) Allow to set and just pop it out! Thank you for this video. Its one of the most enjoyable & relaxing videos Ive watched in a long time. I just dont know what it is though. Is its the video content plus the tone of your voice that makes it so relaxing? Im grateful the classical music isnt overpowering. I love that we get to also hear some of the bird songs.. Im from Sydney, it was great to see some different birds & some Id never seen before. Thanks gain.

Very informative and great education for students of nature. A far cry from the Victorian "naturalists" who were more interested in shooting and stuffing wild birds. And naming them after themselves!

Liked and Subscribed!

I was directed here to identify some bird calls. But hey, what was the the bird that sounded just like a piano?
A couple minor errors of misplaced names Yellow-faced Honeyeater & White-eared Honeyeater. But a nice and clearly very productive bird bath. These are all very common birds.

How many of them survived the fires
@roberthollingworth3809
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the fires. Very sad, and the drought made things worse.

(I put a spoon of oxide powder in the cement to colour it a bit - looks like rock!) Cheers

Out of all of them the Magpies are the most naughty ones. It seems like they don't like hats or helmets. Is it a terratorial behaviour or they are always like this?. This behaviour is seen most in spring

They only swoop in spring and only when the female is on the egg after it hatches they tend to leave people alone the golden plover nests on the ground and swoops relentlessly aswell but same as the Maggie only early spring.
