I know this was posted a while ago now but just thought I’d let you know! You can take certain online RSA courses that allow you to get an RSA in multiple states, when I did mine (I live in aus btw) the one course certified me for QLD, SA, VIC, and NT all at once!!

No mention of Brisbane a very clean & underrated city Cbd has massive park with gardens & beach side on the Brisbane river Fantastic
This sounds like such a good idea. On my own my parents would probably never let me go anywhere, let alone abroad but if it's a working holiday and I'm making money while i'm also travelling slowly, it would probably be more acceptable to them. I think I'm about to look into this once I finish my college. I bet it's a good start to one's career and adulthood in general 😄

Good idea
If you are travelling out rural you should go with Telstra's phone service because Optus will have zero bars out bush and there is very little public wifi in Aus, especially outside of the major and coastal cities.

Another option if you have a Trade and want to be self employed you can also apply for an Australian Business Number (ABN) although you don't need one if you are working for an employer. You will need to get your head around paying tax and collecting GST (> 75K/year) but I know people that have done it and do well for themselves.

If I find a guest who has been through the process then maybe!
with transferwise you can set up a virtual australian bank account so you wont require an australian bank account. You provide the employer your bank numbers and they can send you the money as and when. Currently it cant be used for direct debits which is the only downside if you want to set up a phone contract, otherwise it's hasslefree
What super account type (?) would you recommend then? You've mentioned that there are specific ones for backpacking. I'm heading there for my work&holiday visa in a few days! Feeling the butterflies

hello! thanks for such an informative video. I'm sure this will help so many out there who's heading there. I have one more question, do you transfer your savings from your home country bank into your australian bank account once you set it up?
Don’t forget Tasmania people back pack here and pick fruit etc!

Would you recommend a hotel for first week, in flying into Sydney ( I know people who are there) week there then off to WA farming then hostel living after that
Concerning the super annexation fund: I used the link you mentioned in the description (ING). You have several options: balanced option, cash hub, growth, higher growth. which one would be the best?
@arrgghh1555
5 жыл бұрын
It really should not matter. Higher growth is always nice, but is also more volatile so you could lose money. Just remember to claim the money after you leave Australia (you wont have access to it while you are here).
EVERYONE with your super, you are entitled to collect your super when you leave Australia!!
