Phạm Văn Rạng back then japan would use the main team but now World Cup is more important. So the roster for Asia wc is a bunch on under 23. Also Qatar has no hope in wc and if they faced the main team they’d lose

@@X5mc 90 percent of the squad was the main team. they just defended like dog shit. yoshida, kamada, shibasaki, nagatomo, hasebe, minamino, etc are all in the main team and played in the final against qatar.
To execute this with Asia's most coveted championship on the line just speaks to sheer confidence. Great memory for me as a Japan supporter with one of the best ways to win a major tournament I've ever seen. My support always for Japan, both as a football team and a nation.

congratulations from Rome to Japan & Australia: it's been a memorable match!
That goal was something out of Captain Majid, it was a semi acrobatic kick, and you know he hit the sweet spot of the ball as the mic could pick up the sound even with thousands in the crowd, well deserved win Japan....Australia missed too many chances
Japan is the king of Asia. Samurai reign of glory. Greetings from Colombia.

The winning goal was a real delicacy... but merit also goes to Kawashima, responsible for three crucial saves! A well deserved success for Zaccheroni's Japan.

wonderful game from japan:)) fantastic finish from shinji okazaki and then keisuke honda play with the game so this player amazing congrats japan
Wonderful goal by Lee!! One of my favorites this year. I wish he played for South Korea national team.
I still remember seeing this goal, I watched it through TV, which I never use anymore.
Nice win Japan...you deserve it...you still got your attitude from the samurai...winning the game with honor...i've watch it live at the stadium, you really deserve the win... cheers from Asean Community
Great final! Well done Japan!
The most beautyful gol ever in asian cup final💛
watching this in 2019, I see Japan has improved a lot from this
I remember watching this at all hours of the morning, and it was a fantastic game. As much as it hurt to see the Aussies loose I ahve to say that Japan were deserved champions, and that it was amazing final. Bring on the WC qualifiers and a rematch or two >:D

yeah I always thought so too. In my opinion the socceroos played better but we just had a little bit of luck that day occasionally. JPN vs AUS has been one of the greatest rivalries in asian-oceanian football.
Wow nice finish Japan!!! Cheers from Iran
Lee is like gotze. Created a crucial goal in final but drown after that
Australia had a lot of chances compared to Japan but GK Kawashima did a hell of a job preventing Australia to convert. Nagatoma's cross pass to Tadanari Lee was awesome, making Lee to slammed home a left-foot volley to achieve their victory. Congrats team Japan.
stunning goal!
Japan may will be world campion next year.
I am a Japanese, I am proud of the harmony and solidarity of our Japanese team. Indeed Australia team dominated the game and had a lot of opportunities to convert the goals. However GK Kawashima preventing them from going behind. I would like to admire his efforts and contribution as well as Lee's good left-foot volley to the victory.Thank you for exciting game.

What a goal.
I`m pround of this beautiful game in Asiancup as an asian.Beautiful game, tough, fair and perfect finish for the game. Maybe a lots people were enjoyed around the world.Good for the all asian.
what happened to the quality? It only allows 240p at most!
That was an amazing game even though low scoring, Kowashima (sorry if spelling wrong) Japan's goalkeeper played amazing, and that volley to make it 1-0 was amazingly finished.

Harly Roper When both of these teams are on song, they play the best in Asia, plus South Korea and Iran. These are the Big 4 of the AFC.
I do hope the sceptics can see that QATAR can successfully host a major competition. It's only fair that we give every country a chance to host the world cup and in this case, all we have to do is support the chosen hosts for 2018 and 2022.
What a goal
The Socceroos were the better team on the night although in terms of consistency you can't deny the Cherry Blossoms.

Japan should honour David Carney for his contribution to their Asian Cup triumph.
Nice job, Japan! Australia didn't win, but they worked hard and did well.
Great Job, Tadanari Lee! You are Japan's Hero! Both sides played well, Australia had more chances, but either they were too quick or Japan GK was quick. Both sides attack well, but their defenses were better. Imo, Though I don't doubt Kawashima for Man of the Match, Nagatomo performed superbly, he created alot of chances, wreak havoc in Aussies line and made killer crosses.
AMAZING pass from Honda at 1:05

You didn't watch the game or the tournament, did you? In the semifinals, Japan had a war with South Korea, overtime and penalties, while Australia cruised through a non-event, 6-0 over Uzbekistan. Japan were dead tired and beaten up, and still managed to dig deep and win another marathon.
David Carney became an honorary Japanese citizen that night. What was he thinking leaving his man like that? Single handedly lost us the Asian Cup.

The 24-year-old Japanese defender, Yuto Nagatomo, has just transferred from A.C. Cesena to F.C. Internazionale Milano, the reigning European champions. Although he has just joined F.C. Internazionale on a loan deal, I hope this move will soon be permanent move. I wish to congratulate him on working his way up the promotion ladder!
Gosh every time I watch this match I feel that the final should have been Japan vs Korea
Cant wait for 2014 World cup : )
damn, what a match.
One great volly.
You might be right ! but am not talking about the semi final or the whole tournament. What I said was mainly based on what the highlights suggested. more goal attempts for australia
I am a Japanese. There are so many goal chance to Australia team but unfortunately they could not perform their chances due to the G.K. Kawashima's awesome play. On contrary Japan performed a goal despite only a few opportunities during the game was dominated by opponent. In conclusion, beautiful Samurai(warriors) Japan team beat the powerful Australia team. We are lucky and proud of our team that fulfilled their responsibility for our desires.
reminds me of the past time
im Singaporean and i despise Japan for their actions in the World War 2,history that they will never admit.but i respect them for their drive and determination and recovery from that war and i support their football team nevertheless.football is football and nothing else that is unrelated to it should be used as an excuse to hate on a football team
Di Asia saya suka Timnas Japan,
Bonito partido entre Japón y Australia, lo vi mientras estaba en misión en Sudán del Sur, felicitaciones japoneses por ese triunfo
In 2011, I became greatful to Japan once again for they kept the pride of Asia intact. It was (is also) Asia Cup, but was about to be won by non Asian country. Japan saved it. Thank you 💕 🗾😊

@drangap5 LOL the fact that soccer is the 7th most popular sport in our country, our domestic league is only 6 years old and we only had 250,000 kids playing soccer in 2005 and now have 550,000 as of now. I think our future is very good.

Congrats to Japan... I feel bad for Australia but that's the name of the game!
Congratulations Japan!!! You guys deserve it. Also Lee Tadanari was great in this game. As a Korean I feel happy for Lee. I hope in the future he will lead Japan to a better stage in the World Cup. Until then kudos Japan. :)

yeah okazaki too...unfortunately kagawa isnt gonna play in the onlympics
i love ```japannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn -n-all

golaço do Japão!
I think it's possible, for an Asian team to win the World Cup, eventually. Maybe not in 2018, but I wouldn't be surprised if Japan, or South Korea win it in 2022, or 2026. And I pick those two teams over Australia. Japan do seem to be steadily improving, despite their group stage exit at Brazil World Cup. I still think there's a chance Japan will at least make a semi at some point, possibly before the USA ever does.

@AnimalBear1 u know wher i can watch Captain Tsubasa..?? i cant find it..
@FukcVV eh, Australia dominated that game really, but results don't always reflect the way games go.
@airtouch01 I agree, great player. I'm English and have been following him a while. He's one of my young hopefuls for an online football game I play.
Hey people. This is football not politics economy or history. Negative and rude comments on the winning team just shows off your jealousy. And it's always the same kind of ppl making that kind of comments. Let's together embrace each other cus without Korea having japan and vice versa as rivals, we wouldn't be that strong in football. PEACE JAPAN-3KOREA !!
