Australia: Great Steam Train Race 2019 - Hunter Valley Steamfest.
The 2019 Great Steam Train Race was between steam locomotives 3265 "Hunter" and 3526 (The Nanny).
The actual race took place between near Waratah (Newcastle) and High Street station, Maitland.
Loco 3265'strain was the winner this year, but with a name like Hunter - maybe to be expected!

I was in Car 3 at the centre door. Yes, I was lucky on the day considering. They did a really good job with the race.
This is great footage thanks for sharing. On a side note, given your numerous videos around North Strathfield, it should be interesting when they complete the 3rd track between Strathfield and Hornsby, should make for interesting side by side running of steam trains, especially up the grades beyond West Ryde. Also, if possible would be great to see some footage of passenger trains (electrics) using the 4th track and dive to go to the Easter Show if possible, or using the 5th bi-directional track between Homebush and Flemington Markets for Olympic Park services (if there are any). If this does happen, it's pretty much the only time of the year it happens. I believe they switch onto the up refuge track between Rhodes and Concord West

Yes there should be, the Transport Heritage Expo, they always run one on the Saturday.
