Australia Day: How a sun umbrella started 50 years of Aboriginal protest - BBC News

Fifty years ago, four men travelled to Australia's capital and set up a beach umbrella with a sign marked "Aboriginal embassy".
Their protest grew rapidly to thrust Aboriginal activism into wider public attention.
Today, the Aboriginal Tent Embassy still remains a powerful symbol of protest in Canberra.
A warning to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers: this video contains images of people who may have died.

Touching, I'm so glad to know what that flag is, it's being flown very central in Dublin Ireland 😊 you should drop violence and adopt the flag of Israel, you'll win, I do enjoy the rhetoric of the Originals (surely 'ab' means standing in face of 'original'); "we survived perdition here before and we can drag it back to that again"

Australia is a multicultural country and ive worked with ppl from every continent but never an aboriginal. They dont want to work but want free housing, cars etc and royalties... None Abo's are the slaves serving them through taxes and services and still they complain, not all but enough to cause resentment. Get up, stand up and show up for work....

Terms like aboriginal, ethnic and indigenous seem to highlight the fact that these people are still considered apart or different. Modern thinking, with solving issues considers, that there's no such thing as a point of no return! If there's a right to own property, how can that be claimed when it's totally and evidently out of reach of the sons of the soil! In a competitive society where "performance" is the key, where is the stage or theatre. Delaying resolution of property rights could create third party involvement with unreal ambitions. The world needs the blessings of every earthling. Leve it at that for now!

Only people with other then white skin colour know what freedom is? That is so stupid to say. And how do you know what freedom is? Have you been in slavery?
