They'd get destroyed by a Fred Warner, Bobby Wagner, or even a T.J Watt or Myles Garret. Point is i don't believe there's 30 NBA players that can be a NFL player. In college you play against teams that may have one or two guys on their squad that have a chance to get to get to the league. In the NFL you’re playing against elite athletes and players every single week. The absolutely best

But there isn’t one NFL player who had close to the level of success in college basketball that Charlie had in College Football. This is because any dual athlete player with real potential in both sports chooses the security and safety of basketball over football. Heck even solid D3 players I know can make good money overseas balling.

There was guy name Ray Seals who played basketball in college and played in the NFL and a guy who ran track who played in the NFL and never played football. Also there have been a couple kickers who played soccer and a guy who played baseball. What you're not find , is someone who played football in college and no basketball then they played in the NBA. Because basketball is a more skilled sport.

LeBron James who was timed at 4.60 in the 40 yard dash at age 28 would be a fantastic TE. Ja Morant with his leaping ability and speed would be a great WR or CB. There are many NBA players that could athletically play in the NFL. It would take some time to get accustomed to the physicality and at least some NBA players would be able to get accustomed to the physicality and some would quit. It would be easier for NBA players to get accustomed to the physicality of the NFL than it would be for NFL players to develop their skills for the NBA.

Most NBA players aren’t explosive enough to play in the NFL. Running fast on a hardwood surface in sneakers is a lot different than running fast on turf in cleats. Your place in the draft can be determined by literal fractions of a second from speed and agility testing at the combine.

There’s been dozens of prospects at wide receiver and tight end with similar dimensions to current NBA players that never saw the field because they either weren’t athletic enough or didn’t have it between the ears.

There's dozens of NBA players that can translate. My best WR to throw to my senior year was the SG on the bball team & that was his first year playing. He went to NC State off one year & he's never touched a football before that.

dude, you're more likely to find 30 NBA players to play a skill position vs special teams. When Joy says football is a collision sport, special teams is collision to the extreme.

I never hear any actual reason why nba players couldn't be NFL players. It's always some bull about how they are soft or whatever. Like do football players not realize that they play in full suits of armor. And nba players don't. Like lebron doesn't flop because he is hurt he flops to out smart the ref so that he can get free throws.

Back in the day, Matt Blair, a Vikings linebacker was a beast, and saw him play basketball in charity event, and he was very, very, good in basketball also. There are always multi-talanted athletes that adapt to everything they do. Just because you are in the NBA or NFL, doesn't mean that you are one dimensional. Everyone can adapt to something if you want to specialize in a certain task. How many times have you been watching an NFL game and the Tight End goes up over the top to catch the ball...the announcer usually comments and said, well, he was an excellent basketball player in the University of ...............

I think almost any large WR, tight end or defensive end (6’3”-6’8” 200lbs-250lbs) could be a role player in the NBA for 17 games. I do not think any current NBA player would last in the NFL for 17 games. All of the larger players in the NBA get hurt in a non collision sport. Most of the smaller players are too light.

@chasehlee7197 all those players in the NBA who are role players, who play defense and rebound were srars in high school and most likely college. Pat Beverly averaged 37 in high school . Kevon Looney was a star i high school and all pac 10 player. Kendrick Perkins was a McDonald's all American.

Westbrook would be a top 5 receiver. What corner can jump with him? Name one not 2.

Anthony Edwards said himself, he wants to be the first Pro Athlete to Play in the NBA & the NFL at some point in their Pro Career. Ant , (A younger) Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry could play QB, Draymond Green. just to name a few could've made the transition from the NBA to the NFL.

@@vincew4297 He'd be a similar build to Devonta but would be taller and most likely faster off the line (Fox is incredibly good at changing pace). You're forgetting that all these NBA players are way bigger than NFL skill players.

@@joeasuncion2891 no they’re taller they’re not bigger or stronger. Takes more than change of pace to be good in the NFl. Fox and is skinny and would get folded like a lawn chair coming across the middle. If anything guys would be head hunting for a guy like him thinking he could just come into the NFL. They would go out of their way hit him even when he’s not getting the ball thrown to him. NFL players are crazy in a way NBA players aren’t. It takes a different level of toughness. Athletically Fox would be on par but he wouldn’t make an NFL roster as just a Receiver he’d have to be good on special teams blocking and having to tackles guys who are a lot bigger, stronger, and faster than him.

@@lightskamrunaction these guys have been playing football at a high level for many years. Don’t think some training is going to get them ready to play in the NFL. Also being able to play in the NFL it’s just as important, if not more, to have the mentality to the game than it is just being an great athlete or training

Ok… then why do players that get bounced from the league go play for Taiwan ect.. instead of just balling in the NFL?? They would make more money if they could do the job. There is a reason NFL contracts aren’t guaranteed (because there is an overwhelmingly underrated factor.. toughness and durability) not to mention the cerebral part of the game knowing plays, situations, jobs ect. The game is so different it’s annoying to listen to people who think just because you can jump and run you could LAST in the NFL. Im sure there are talented players in the NBA who IF they focused on football from the get go could have made it but that’s not the same as saying they could just walk into the league. Honestly it’s disrespectful, as I don’t think NFL could do the same . The NBA is European football on a hardwood floor lol. I would rather have an NHL player on my team than an NBA player

So many comments here ..but does not understand the game. NBA has 82 games with 5 players inside. Those guys do more than any NFL player. So load management is their answer. NFL switches team on offense and defense. The game is just long because of the pause. They are more physical...yeah. But for your joints like the knee, basketball will destroy you permanently in the long run. Besides, NFL wears protective gear. Its not like Rugby. But in all of this, i dont agree there are 30 NBA players that can play right away in NFL.. 10 will be at best.

Austin Rivers was right. It's easier for NBA players to play in the NFL than the other way around. Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, Jimmy Graham, Julius Peppers, and several more.

Here's what you do: 35 each from the NBA & NFL. 10 teams. Teams of 7. You make it a pick-up league where captains pick whoever they want, teams can be any mix of players. Basketball games can either have real refs, or make it street ball. NFL can potentially have a designated QB playing for both teams (different QB different weeks) or teams provide their own from players selected. Teams wear pads.
